While the Emmylou harris./Parsons Love Hurts is very good. Nazareth version is quite good as well. I wouldn;t say its better, but I would say Emmylou Harris is probably my favourite female singers and one of the best rock out concerts you can go to.
"If there's a better chin in the world than Pryor's, it has to be on Mount Rushmore." -Pat Putnam.
Collins was on point with All along the Watchtower(Hendrix version)
Yeah, the Nazareth version is good, but the Gram/Emmylou version is magic. Also, try finding a copy of Return of the Grievous Angel with Ryan Adams and Emmylou. That might be better than the version with Gram. I'll rep you after I spread some for knowing that version with Gram and Emmy.
I'm with Collins and JT on Watchtower. That belongs on any list of great covers or covers that equal or surpass the original.
Hurt - Johnny cash over the NIN version
And Hendrix -All along the watchtower
Hendrix has already been said.. I concurr..
Cash may also have been ..Lol I havent seen it
Immortal Technique
I love Scorpion ballads. I don't think anybody revised any of their music.

I can tell you one I cant stand... They took the music of Sweet Home Alabama, and put some Fucktard words to it....Sounded like Kid Rocks doing
The Girl From Ipanema originally done by Pery Ribeiro. I think Joao, Gilberto & Getz did a much better job in the version they created.
RATM album "Renegades" is full of cover songs. I'm not saying they are all better then the originals but def. a well put album. Songs from Dylan, MC5, Cypress Hill, Rolling Stones & EPMD to name a few.
