GR stands for Grand Rapids. Floyd grew up down the road from where I live. He's actually been a good guy in the community the last few years. Donating his money and time to several good causes. I can throw a rock from my front yard and hit his High School.

    Favorite fighters:
    1. Mayweather
    2. Cotto
    3. Pavlik
    4. Juan Manuel Marquez
    5. RJJ
    6. Winky
    7. Israel Vasquez
    8. Oscar
    9. Fernando Montiel
    10. Haye and Hatton and Calderon and Mijares

I lean towards pure boxers, but have some bangers in their as well.

whats happenin Dan. Well SINCE you asked. I absolutely do love the sweet styles of Sugar Ray Robinson aka Walker Smith or Sweet Pea Whitaker. I tend to lean towards the old skool though. So surprise me. Or you can surprise me by never making me one. I'd be cool with that too.

I say Lefty just shouldn't be allowed to post anymore. Agreed. Good point.

Anyways, I have a few favorites. All time is Whitaker because like GR before me, my earliest memories are of Pernell Whitaker when I was living in Norfolk, Virginia.

Currently my two favorites are Winky and Jeff Lacy as they really launched me back into boxing and made me the fan I am now. Turned me from someone who followed the sport who spends a chunk of everyday on this site. They even somewhat determined my major in a round about way.

As of right now the guys I am most interested in are Andre Ward, Joan Guzman, Aaron Williams, Miguel Cotto ect.

To tell the truth though, I've kind of leaned away from being a hardcore fan of any one person in particular and just turned into someone who likes a whole lot of different fighters. I mean two guys who came to mind when I posted this were Sechew Powell and Carson Jones. Now you'll never see me with a Sechew Powell or Carson Jones signature but those are two guys I very much have an interest in because they are well, interesting. And that's how I feel about most guys.

That's why I hate guys who aren't interesting. In fact I root blindly against many more fighters then I blindly root for. I mean, I'll always root for Andre Ward and most Bay Area guys simply because I like fighters from my hometown. But when Ricardo Cortes got smoked by Alfredo Angulo, it didn't really break my heart in fact I put the interest level of Angulo ahead of any sadness I had for the guy from San Jose.

All things said, I'm a fan of a few guys but I've kind of moved away from finding guys I want to root for. I used to always root for Acelino Freitas, now I look back at that and think how stupid I was for rooting for Freitas and letting those emotions get in the way of just enjoying good fights. I watched Freitas-Casamayor on Classic today for only the second time since I saw it live and yeah I was 12 when the fight happened but I would have had such a better time watching it if I wasn't biting my nails down the stretch. Also it prevented me from seeing the horrible job Joe Cortez did in that fight.

    I think I'm rambling here.
