I work my abs 5/6 days a week lower, sides, upper, and also stability ball for my abs, i split my routine. I do big weights 3 days a week squats, dead lifts, etc. I do cardio mostly every day but i do fun cardio like sparring, basketball etc. I do a lot more than that but i just done a short quick list. But also don't be ashamed to maybe take at least 5 days off to refresh yourself every now and again.

Donny you must have read me wrong. My point is nobody seems to do any work to prepare for improvement in whatever they are doing as regards muscle adaptability or nuiron response to the action they are trying to perform, example you wont get good results by running to get fit for running. You have to prepare the body first to get better results, or you get injured or the skill factor decreases thats a simple fact whatever you do. I could go on but Im sure you get my drift.

So what would one do to maximise the benefit of padwork?

In the past I've tried it while keeping my left eye closed, to try increase balance and accuracy. It did seem to help.

I guess before you decided how to improve padwork you'd have to decide what function(s) padwork provides or could provide.

Sounds like a science experiment to me!

As for abs - don't forget they will also get worked whilst you are punching , doing squats, press ups etc

I think if I get this correct, what punch is saying, is when I am hurting my back throwing hooks and they arent working properly...I am to look at my feet and try fixing it there?

Am I any where even remotely close?

If your throwing from too extended a stance your going to torque the hell out of your back, and your off balance to boot
