After Oscar lose to Hopkins people started to question Oscar's ability to take body punches over and over. Since Hopkins, I am yet to see Oscar being KOed by a body punch or seriously injured. I think it’s a bit overrated to say in every fight that a single punch to the body will totally destroy him. I mean, the possibility is there of course. It's not only one fight where I have seen Cotto getting rocked/dazed, about to get the fight stopped, cut, slow, etc.
Interesting how nobody mentions Cotto's weaknesses. I root for Oscar but I can see his weaknesses specially now that he's past his prime.
I don't think Cotto will KO De La Hoya with just a body punch as Hopkins did. He will worn out De La Hoya with a steady, methodic attack to the body. Of course in that effort he has to be very careful of not opening his defense too much. I have seen previous fights were Cotto has received several right hands to the head (watch the fight with N'Dou), which I have to admit surprised me a lot because he could not adjust his defense at that moment. However, I think that it was a moment where he wanted to change his style for being almost 100% aggressor (I think tried to copy Tito's style) and forgot his boxing. I have seen that he went back and he is fighting in a smarter way. I think Cotto has to be very careful during the first 6 rounds, but then it should be all Cotto.
