Round 9: Marquez is really impressing me. Who knew he had anything in the tank? They start out the round wrestling on the inside, neither really landing anything but the difference is Lorenzo is out of his element while Marquez is in it. A good pull back counter right for Lorenzo scores but does nothing to keep Marquez off him. Marquez just bullying Lorenzo backwards and then ripping to the body. Lorenzo trying to create some space to punch, but nothing works. Lorenzo looks spent now, and Marquez won't relent now. Lorenzo hands have drifted to his hips now but Marquez gives him a bit of a break at the bell. Marquez really playing to the crowd now.

Round 10: Lorenzo's corner just told him that he needed a KO to win this. Close fight but with three rounds left, that's probably left. A big straight left coming forward scores for Marquez. Lorenzo isn't out of this though and seems to have better legs this round, scores a very stiff right. Now it's back to the middle of the ring and Lorenzo is doing a lot of punching here. He nails Marquez with a right hand again and this one really opened that cut on the right eye of Marquez. That looks bad and Marquez looks bothered. Now the tides have tunred a little bit and it's Marquez moving backwards at the end of the round with Lorenzo coming forward with punches. They tie up on the ropes and Lorenzo blatantly butts on the break and is deducted on the break. Marquez is pissed! He comes right after Lorenzo and nails him with a straight left, Lorenzo answers and they trade after the bell.

Round 11: Now they are both really charged up. Lorenzo looks to have some fire now, throwing a bit wildly even from the outside. Meanwhile, Marquez has grown increasingly stationary, waiting for Lorenzo to come inside on him instead of walking Lorenzo down. Lorenzo is playing right into that though Lorenzo is doing some nice work with the straight right hand this round, winning it early. They trade in the center of the ring and a left hand at the tail end of the combination lands for Marquez. Marquez is really blooodied up now. Now things have settled down a bit, Lorenzo is really going after things here. Marquez lands a right hook as they tie up and Lorenzo is hurt. Lorenzo lays against the ropes and then answers back with a right hand. Now Marquez is moving forward and really wobbles Lorenzo with a lead right hook. Lorenzo ties up to the bell. Good fight.

Round 12: Lorenzo's corner keeps preaching the knckout. They touch it up at the opening of the round. Marquez moving forward with the jab, traps Lorenzo early in the corner. Lorenzo is only looking for that right hand at this point but it's pretty unrealistic to think he's going to change things with that punch. They clash heads a minute in and now Lorenzo starts to move a bit more. Marquez lands a good left hand in between the jab and right hand of Lorenzo. We see the jab again Marquez and now Lorenzo looks desperate, jumping with a left hook. Marquez really cutting the ring off nicely but gets answered with a right hand that does do some damage. Marquez steps back to recover, then comes right back forward. Some more jab, straights offered from Lorenzo but he didn't get the knockout. Good last round, Marquez probably took it on activity but it was a decently close fight. I had Marquez winning in a really impressive bounce back performance.

A definite blast from the past there. I agree VD, 154 should be where Marquez goes. Think he wouldn't beat Mora or Phillips?

He got the decision by the margin of the point deduction. At least the right guy got it.

Maybe it's the Corona's.....I actually give him a toss up shot at Phillips ??He'll go for some other big name though and deserves It....Then I hope he retires intact.

I can't remember who the 3rd champ at 154 is but I would take him over Phillips and Mora. Phillips would be a fun one, Mora would play out similar to this one we just saw imo.

There we go show some more Andre Ward
