The same people who picked Hatton to beat Floyd because of his relentless style, speed and durability now say Floyd is a coward for fighting a Jr Welterweight (even though Ricky Hatton walks around at a much higher weight than Floyd). The same people who picked ODLH to whoop Floyd because of his punching power, handspeed, chin and experience now dog Floyd for fighting a hasbeen.

Mayweather has fought and beaten every figher he has ever faced.

There can be no questions over the guys status as one of the true greats within the sport because of that fact.

But he is still in the prime of his career and there are many unanswered questions left within the division alone.

I know i keep bringing up this example but when lennox lewis retired he had cleaned up his division, beaten every man he ever fought and there were no remaining questions left for him to answer.

Calzaghe is on the verge of doing exactly the same (pavlik fights at 160, JC is now a 175 pounder)

The same just cannot be said about floyd.

I'm not defending the fact that he's retired without fighting the winner of Cotto/Marg. But to downplay his big wins and achievements is just idiotic.

On the subject of cleaning out a division though, the guys you are talking about (Calzaghe, Lennox) have been in the same division for their entire careers. Floyd has his career divided up into 5 different weight divisions.

But yeah I agree, it is shitty of him to retire without facing he winner of Cotto/Marg
