Collazo didn't do anything special, it's what Hatton DIDN'T do that made the fight that close
agreed. i fighter with hattons style has no excuses for not pounding to the body at every given opportunity...
Thats because after the 4th round he just shot in and grabbed because he was worried about Collazo's flurries. Asevident to the time he DIDN'T hold when he threw in the 12th, see what happened

I don't think he was scared of Luis' power, I think he just didn't throw his punches short enough and it took too much stamina from him.

It wasn't about Luis' power it was about taking punches from him.

I don't think he did enough to TAKE the title from Collazo And despite that I still had him losing.

How many rounds did he need to win Starr? I mean he also had that LEGIT knockdown...off balance or not, a knockdown is a knockdown, if that was Wlad everyone would be all over him for getting knocked down but all of a sudden it's Collazo and he's just not the kind of guy who gets knocked down

Hatton needed 6 to ensure a win and 5 which would have ensured a draw. last night I had him winning 4.

I had him winning 6...a case could be made for 5 or 7 though

Nothing special. So I guess ricky came in the ring with his face looking beat up.And hattons biggest flaw was his lack of defense which he has been displaying for a while.I said after the tszyu fight that he needed better defense if he wanted to fight floyd and I feel the same way now and i've seen quite a few of his fights. The only thing that looked different about this fight is he didn't throw as many punches as usual. Which makes me think he didn't like what was coming back. Please don't discredit Collazo cause he gave your boy the hardest fight of his life and you know you didn't think it was possible.
Step up so I can put you down

Hatton is not "my boy" Cotto is more so than Ricky. I like Ricky though, he's a good fighter.

I'm not trying to discredit Luis, I just think he didn't do enough to keep his title. He definantly looked the best by far vs anyone else who has fought Ricky. By "nothing spectacular" I mean he didn't do ENOUGH...he fought Ricky's fight more than he should have. To win he needed to stay on the outside and use the jab, he did well in the clinches though because Ricky didn't do anything in close later on.

Ricky's body punches were enough to win the fight for him, that is what won it for him

    Wait a minute.

Collazo didn't do enough to keep his title Collazo did enough to TAKE the title

So all Collazo had to do was NOT LOSE and he didn't do enough to NOT LOSE which is why Hatton won.

Collazo definantly didn't do enough to take the title

What I'm saying is that if Hatton was the champ Collazo did enough to take the title. Hatton did enough to defend it which isn't enough to win it
