That leads me to my theory as to why people are angry and want Mayweather to continue: You don't WANT him to go out on top and undefeated because you dislike him as a fighter, a person, or both. You'd much rather watch him hang around and continue stepping into the ring with the best in the business because you know that sooner or later, one of them is going to catch him on a bad day and tarnish his legacy.

    Thoughts?
Im a Mayweather fan and he needs to fight the winner of Margarito vs Cotto no question otherwise he will never hear the end of it, how can he retire when the Welterweight is probably the 3rd or 4th strongest in history ?? if he fights Cotto vs Margarito winner and wins he can then retire and do whatever he wants even though i wouldn't mind him fighting Paul Williams either, it will tarnish his legacy at least not fighting Williams, Margarito, Cotto, when the Welterweight division is probably the hottest division in boxing at the moment. His resume is great no question but he needs to fill in the gap and seal the deal on his legacy.
Give me a break, none of those three would beat Mayweather and you know it just as well as I do. What's the point in him stepping in the ring and dispatching them just like he did everyone else? I mean really, how many top tier guys does he have to beat before people let him go?

I would give Cotto and Williams a decent chance at Mayweather and just because you think Mayweather would beat those 3 doesn't mean he don't have to fight them, Mayweather has been the favorite against everybody in his entire career doesn't mean he doesn't have to step up to the plate and fight the best Welterweights. I have defended Mayweather countless times but theres no way he can retire when the Welterweight division is this hot and leave all these question marks, i think people have stated many times if he beats the winner of Margarito vs Cotto then he can retire.
