I think Froch defense has been abit lacks in the past as he hasn't feared the opposition in the past but will know that Taylor is genuine World Class and realise he needs to tighten up the defense.
If this fight happens its a great match-up and I certainly can't see Froch getting Ko'd as Taylor is not a big hitter and Froch seems to possess an excellent chin.
May major concern is whether he will be busy enough if he is he can dominate the fight.

People are talking about Froch improving his defence?? That's a laugh. Taylor is way to good to lose to this guy imo, it would be a huge upset if it happened. I mean sure you have to give Froch a punchers chance and perhaps Taylor's head isn't really in this fight? But I don't see any reason that would be the case after his showing in the Pavlik rematch. Taylor does everything better than Froch, who has an awful fighting style to succeed at the world class level. How is leaving your hands at your hips winging telegraphed uppercuts going to work against a top fighter? I just can't see it. "The Cobra" is no Bernard Hopkins, WRight or Kelly Pavlik, Taylor does everything better than Froch anyways, and given Froch's style I suspect he'll be getting KO'ed. He'll need one hell of a chin just to survive and make it competitive.

you'll see he will be up there. He will make this one hell of a fight for Taylor. Its alrite you all saying his defence will be exposed, but when has it ever been a problem? ive never seen him being truely hurt before or nearly touching the mat. Its his presence and his range that is a great form of defence for Froch. His footwork is underrated too, he knows when hes in touble he can get out of there quick. The range will be a lot harder for Taylor than he expects. If he gets problems off two small lightmiddleweights, I am expecting many problems from a natural 168 fighter who is greatly up for the fight!

The reason he hasn't been in much trouble so far because he has fought absolutely no one remotely world level.
I can't belive people are picking on the Light Middle weight fighters as evidence he'd struggle against a bigger guy like Froch, wtf, stylistically the fights will be completely different. It's like saying that Taylor struggles with southpaws with a tight guard, so logically he'll struggle more with an orthodox fighter with his hands protecting his groin
Anyway, not knocking Froch, if this fight comes off we will finally know exactly where he's at. IMO Froch's only chance is a knockout, he simply won't outbox Taylor.

Taylor would make Carl look bad.

well we will have to see wont we. But I think this fight is going to be a lot harder for taylor than you all think. strength wise especially. I just really cant wait for this. Im not disrespecting taylor but i just think hes not going to win this. I wont be a coward and make excuses if carl looses though, may the best fighter win!
But has this fight even been confirmed yet!?
It hasn't ever been a problem. Which hurts Froch's chances even moreso because he'll have no idea how to deal with it when he gets in with Taylor and it's a HUGE one. Your basically saying the less experienced fighter isn't at a disadvantage because noone's ever hurt him before, or made him change his game plan. Well duh, that's the point. Taylor has been in with a magnitude of world class talent, and many different styles. He's been hit hard, and lost rounds. He's had to adjust and learn in the ring in basically every big fight he's been in. Froch has never met a single opponent he couldn't just plow over with looping telegraphed shots. Never had to even think about using any real ring craft. I see giving him a punchers chance against Taylor, but nothing more. It's obvious Taylor is the better fighter.
Taylor should dominate, but I wouldn't be shocked if it didn't come off. Read a newspaper article today about it and they seem determined to fight Lacy first.
Dont get me wrong i think Roy would have won but it would have been a GREAT fight.

But you cold say exactly the same thing for Froch that when he fights Taylor he can adapt to his style. Carl has made it clearly evident that he belongs with the world fighters and this is the step up he needs. Hes not taking any easy routes he is going straight for the best fighters and you will see hes ready for this step up IMO. I do thing skill wise Taylor is better and has more expereince. But this is 168 were the power is a lot more of a factor than merely just speed. Froch is powerful, more powerful than Taylor. Taylor shows when the going gets tough hes in for it. Carl knows how to apply decent pressure and I can really see Taylor getting tierd down the stretch like he has done in a lot of his fights recently. Froch aint no winky wright or Kasim ouma, if he sees a knock he isnt going to stop. If taylor can handle his pressure he has a good chance of winning, but hes going to get in trouble at least once in the fight, and I think that will be enough for Froch to finish him off.
