wow, great match up this one. I can see this and the Hatton Paulie fight being used to set up an April showdwon between Hatton and Manny, provided they both win of course.

since hatton is fighting paulie november pac needed another oppenent and they pretty much just fed valero to pac to set up the mega bout between pac and hatton early next year 2009.
Plus guzman, casa, jmm and nate are all tied together and valero is the only one unoccupied. btw valero did move up to 135 i think around the same time guzman did.
Valero isn't a valid opponent, Pacquaio is going to destroy him... He should have waited for the Guzman-Campbell fight.

This would be one hell of a brawl!
I'm wondering what type of strategy Pac would use in this one. Will he follow the same formula against Diaz, flurrying, countering, and getting out of there, or will he go throwback, force the action and trade?
It actually makes me laugh that a while back, before Pac had fought Marquez again, people were slating him for possibly moving up to lightweight without fighting a threat like Guzman OR Valero. As if they were equal tests. Valero isn't half the fighter Guzman is, and he probably won't do much better than DAvid Diaz against Pac from what I've seen. Guess it's acceptable if they are really lining up a Hatton fight for November though, as any other credible LW wouldn't be ready to fight months before then.

I haven't seen much of Valero, but he is way too slow for Pac...In his last fight Valero was countered a few times pretty good by an average fighter with average power and speed...Valero will look worse than Diaz against Pacquaio...But still who knows what will happen ?!?
