Has to be Buffer IMO, anyone remember for Hatton-PBF "Somebodys 0 has gotta go" classic
Jimmy Lennon Jr without a doubt.
Jimmy meets and talks to every fighter before they enter the ring so as to pronounce their names correctly etc. Its very rare to hear him make a mistake at all
Buffer on the other hand has made a great career out of a catchphrase and a suntan. I'll never forget him at a televised fight card from Ft Worth TX wishing everbody a "Great evening
of Professional WRESTLING" and later in the evening introducing bantamweight Paulie Ayala as THE NABF HEAVYWEIGHT champion. Marc Beiro is another great announcer he's a true professional like Lennon

There's room for more than one announcer, but like Howard Cosell, Michael Buffer is a boxing icon.

why did they feel the need to always state the surname right after already saying it??

I really don't mind either one both do a great job....but if there was one last fight left on the planet i would have to give buffer the nod just because.

I prefer Buffer just a little over Lennon Jr.. My only reason for this is when the zoom in close to Lennons face he always has a weird look on his face. Buffers just has a more laid back look about him. Lennon has that weird deer in the headlights look always.

Both are great but Buffer just edges it.
I can imagine him at home asking his wife for a beer "PLLLLLEEEEAAASSEE, FETCH ME A CAAAAN OF THE UNDISPUTED KING OF BEEEERS"

He actually talks like he announces methinks.

I like them both but with a slight edge to Jimmy Jr.

Wouldn't it be nice to see them work together one day? Buffer says let's get ready to rumble and Jimmy says the rest so we don't have to endure Buffer mispronounciation of the spanish "R".

    Now that would be sweet.

This is not even close. Buffer by KO. I love the way he introduces the Mexican fighters "Camse Caberas" I love his build up to the "L.G.R.T.R" line "To the millions fans worldwide....ladies and gentlman" when he introuced the Mayweather Vs Hatton and Mayweather Vs Judah fights

"FORMER super featherweight WORLD champion, FORMER lightweight WORLD champion, FORMER junior welterweight WORLD champion and the reigning defending welterweight champion of the WORLD..... PRETTY BOY !! Floyd A.K.A MONNEEEEE Mayweather"

Or when he used to introduced Tyson "The UNDEFEATED....UNDISPUTED heavyweight champion IRON Mike Tyson" those were the days (lol)

Buffer has a better catch phrase and voice. Lennon says better things.

Buffer tries to narrate the damn life story of the fighters.

"Now, he's seeking his revenge of the one loss of his career"

"And now, he makes his return"

And he manages to pat himself on the back by talking about how great his catch-phrase is.

"And now, the most famous catch-phrase in the world"

We came to see two men fight, not a guy in a suit talk about how great his catch-phrase is!
