Whoooooooaaaaaaa there....You're comparing Hatton-Collazo to Calzaghe-Lacy? no comparison...Calzaghe is an excellent Boxer/Puncher....Hatton is a puncher/brawler at 140....don't get it twisted...Floyd's loss of hand speed was not noticable and he still has his power....Hatton looked slowww....Hatton's style is all wrong for bigger better fighters that know how to box.....and NEVER hurt Collazo....and the biggest factor of all for those that think Hatton is bigger than Floyd...Floyd is 5-8 with a 72" reach...Hatton is 5-6 with a 65" reach....Floyd can and will become a true welterweight...Hatton doesn't have the frame to effectively carry the extra weight....Hatton was succumbing to all the hits he took against Collazo and was out on his feet an very easily could and should have been KO instead he was able to hold on for dear life...he can't get out of the way of punches at this weight....Not only has this never happened to PBF he is as slick as he was at 140....Floyd didn't EAT his way to 147 he trained to get to 147.....Lacy was overhyped and still a little green to get in the ring with the likes of Calzaghe......Hatton was overhyped as well....Collazo won that fight...We'll see who wins in the rematch...

let not get this out of context Lacy got alot of heat as i had to ban a number of new members from the UK talking total crap about him after that fight... the regulars are pretty respectful and i will do the same for that craptalkers on hatton

LawHoops is on a 3 day ban for that total tosh he posted about ricky and his family

my nightmare usually posts total tosh for effect then logs in under other accounts to pat himself on the back... but most people know he's just a bit unstable

there are a few others but thats about it most of the stuff is just respecful debates for and against by the regulars... it happens after every big fight and will start dying down soon... look on the bright side the mayorga knockers have gone quite

oh just one more thing... last 3 fight all against champions and... NEWWWW TWO WEIGHT CHAMPION

    that is all

PBF can grow into the weight but Hatton cant?? How do you work that one out?? HATTON IS THE BIGGER MAN!!! So is corrlaes bigger than Tyson because he has a bigger height and reach difference?? Ricky is naturally bigger than Floyd. Also the compasions between the two fights wasnt the styles you muppet, try and read the thread next time before you comment, i was talking about the reaction of so called boxing fans, i was pointing out Hatton has got more stick than Lacy got and the difference being Ricky won and Lacy lost every round, my point was there is a bit of American told you so all over this, nothing to do with the styles.

I think, rather than generalising the americans, it's the fans of Hatton's rivals that are rubbishing him most (mayweather, cotto). Similar to how some Hatton fans would rubbish Mayweather or Cotto if they had a poor performance. I wouldn't say they know nothing about boxing, they're just supporting their guy and looking for weaknesses in their rivals.
IMO Hatton is still undisputed no.1 at 140, which gives him a right to stay high in the p4p rankings for the time being. This last fight shows that he will struggle against natural welters (Barry Mcguigan said himself before the Collazo fight he should stay away from Margarito, Oscar and even Baldomir).
But this performance IMO has no bearing on how he'd perform against Cotto or Mayweather, the attributes that Collazo had which troubled Hatton was his natural size and strebgth advantage, attributes which the other two don't have.

my reply was to the fact you think Hatton had an off night...he didn't...he finally stepped up in competition and had it handed to him....And as for hatton being bigger than Floyd your nuts...Floyd is broader than Hatton hence the 7 inch reach advantage....it's not just about arm reach it also includes finger tip to finger tip......So lets see.. Floyd is TALLER and WIDER!!! what the h*ll are you looking at Hatton with a magnifying glass? hatton looked SMALL agains Collazo...He will look SMALL compared to PBF...and to try to throw in a Corrales/Tyson comment? that was so far off it merits no additional response....

I loved seeing Calzaghe box Lacy ears off that night, cuz I give props to who deserves it,but Hatton only beat Tszyu with cheap tactics and all of a sudden he can take on any1 without being defeated and after Saturday's night I thought there was going to be a lot of clear minds after what happened, but It remains the same, the hardest step to overcome is DENIAL.
    Bollocks........

Typical kneejerk reaction to a bad performance. That was Hatton's worst performance since he turned pro and he still won the fight, his first at 147. Us Brit's aren't in denial, we just know that he has a lot more to give. What if you judged Tysons career on his fight against McBride?

Don't write him off just yet, he's got the heart of a champ and unlike most of these yanks that just talk a good fight, he's willing to put his money where his mouth is and step up to fight the best........He's in it for the glory and that's what boxing is all about.

Hatton's world class, how you can say he beat Tszyu with cheap tactics a laughable, unless beating someone down is against the rules? It's a fight not a game of chess, fighters that moan are just pussy's.

fingertip to fingertip could just means his arms are longer, it doesn't mean he has a bigger frame

Hatton doesn't do anything more than what a prime Tyson did using elbows, shoulders, and head to boar in and work the body. It's a STYLE that has been proven effective for a long time now. I don't see why everyone is so hypercritical of it.

Hatton has the frame for Welterweight. If the 5'6 Carmen Basilio could go up to welter and trade SDs with Ray Robinson then Hatton can do the same with Floyd. It's not outside the realm of posibility that Floyd will be beat by someone sometime soon

Well show me when Zab has acted like a big boy and took responsibility for being such a dumbass at times...he didn't do it after choking Jay Nady, he didn't do it after GIVING AWAY the fight to Spinks, he didn't do it when he nailed Floyd in the nuts in fact he could have stayed OUT of trouble then but no he jumped in like some 13 year old wanna be gangbanger.

I thought this was an open board to criticize fighters. It isn't about hate. Judging a fighters performance, or saying he's crap doesn't mean you hate him.

He fought sloppy, and nowhere near his percieved P4P level. It's up to him to come back with a better performance to proove people wrong. I don't have a problem with territorial pride, but a person has to realize that they might look stupid claiming that one country is superior to another. It all depends on the fighter.

As for the Tyson/Hatton comparison, thats just non-sense. The only way they fight anything alike is that both come forward.

I'm from the U.S and I like Hatton, but just to point out the one thing that drove me crazy was the holding. He should be criticized for this, just like Ruiz is.
