There is really no real clear cut way to determine these lists, outside of someone saying something like cory spinks is no 3 on my list.....i don't really see any wrong answers, the top three or so are always gonna be close but everything else is subjective and varies on opinion. It's cool to see everyone pretty much on the same page pretty much....shows these lists posted here aren't just fan based.....too hard for me to make one, i change my mind every two seconds.

    4. Miguel Cotto

Those are the 4 elite fighters in boxing right now. There's a dropoff to whoever is at #5 and below.

I'm always baffled as to how Hopkins can be in the top ten when he has lost 3 of his last 6.

Sure they were close fights, but he lost.

Where would he be if in them 3 fights he was clearly ahead before being caught by a lucky punch in the 12th....and being ko'd?

Might sound like a ridiculous argument, but surely being clearly ahead against Taylor and Calzaghe would say more about his ability, then losing SD's to them?

Suppose it's all about opinions and people will argue that Hopkins had a case for winning those fights.

Hopkins was rated top 3 P4P by most people and losing close fight to Calzaghe who was top 5 P4P fighter, and now is a top 3 P4P fighter shouldn't make him drop out of the 10 IMO.

Maybe the question should be 'why was he in people's top 3 after losing twice to Taylor?'

Scrap that, i might have put him the top 3 at some point

Because the JT decisions were controversial. Many believe he also beat Joe Calzaghe, an undefeated undisputed world champion who was ranked top 5 P4P before he fought Hopkins (Now he is top 3). He was the underdog against Tarver and yet schooled him. He also beat another legend in Winky Wright who previousley hadn't lost for 7 years. He is fully deserivng of P4P status without doubt.
