No Sheika did not beat Johnson fair and square try watching the fight first before you comment on it, it was a highly controversial decision in which many people thought Johnson won which is a fact. I think you need to check up on your history Eubank was to fight at Cruiserweight if i remember rightly ?? then he was told on 1 week notice that he had to fight Calzaghe, and he had to lose 20 pounds in 1 week leaving himself badly weight drained. And how can you say poor James Toney ?? he was one of the top 3 P4P fighters at that time, and Bernard Hopkins was more experienced than Jones was so i don't want to hear that Hopkins was green excuse. I don't overrate Jones i call it as i see it he dominated good/great fighters, and hardly ever lost a round and never looked being beaten. Calzaghe has looked beatable in many fights and he certainly hasn't got the X Factor that Jones has. Even die hard Calzaghe fans realize Jones was an amazing fighter in his prime love him or hate him that is a fact.
And i didn't see you counter any of the points i stated regarding Calzaghe's opposition, that must mean you agree then ??
I find it strange that anyone a fan of Jones can question Calzaghe resume. The only fights Calzaghe has not totally dominated is Reid and Hopkins both sneaky fighters that do not attack.
Jones is a great fighter but i wont have the dogging of Calzaghes resume then people claim Roy Jones`s was great its not.
I think prime 4 prime Calzaghe gives Jones his toughest possible test weather Joe wins i doubt but his style is and awlways was a tough one for Roy.
Exactly, Calzage is still doing his thing, he has never come close to losing, e would outwork Jones.
Jones didnt like getting hit and anyone who put pressure on him made him go in to his shell, unfortunately the fighters he fought werent on the same level as Calzaghe determination wise, they got scared of Jones speed but when they did put pressure on Jones would cover up and shy away on the ropes.
We all know that Joe can keep the pace all night and the punches just keep raining in, he doesnt just throw whatever he can hoping for the best and then tire like Bryant Brannon, or wait for openings and giving Roy the time and space to work at his own pace like Toney.
Joe sets the pace, makes Roy think and hide and outworks him![]()
I knew making this poll would stir up some shit. Especialy those no minded numbnutted retards who accually think Joke Calslappy would win. Hell he is affriad of Pavlik.
Put it this way, Calzaghe has never comer close to losing in the longest championship reign in boxing
Joe has also beaten 2 undefeated reigning champs
Jones has only defeated 1 undefeted reigning champ in Toney
We will see the quality of those wins in the furure for Joe, Toney went on to lose a few times and get caugt taking steroids as has Jones
Both Calzaghes victims have bounced back, 1 with a title
I think it is possibly more patriotism that so many people have backed Jones because how any one can say he would beat Joe handily when he has been sparked and beaten a few times and Joe is still throwing the most punches in a fight out of all the current champs and hasnt come close to losing or slowing down even at 36![]()
Im not even going to debate with you on this your previous posts have showed your biased towards British fighters and your Roy Jones Jr hater which is a fact. All i'll say is that you said Calzaghe has never come close to losing then you must of missed his fights with Hopkins/Reid, and also his fight with Salem where he was dropped heavily with a right hand.
How is getting floored close to losing?
Split decision wins are also not close to losing, getting a draw is close
Jones lost a few times and sparked a couple as well, he also got caught cheating with steroids, its all old news, no use crying over spilt milk.
No one can say Jones would have beaten Calzaghe because Joe has proven unbeatable so far against some excellent fighters and some that were young undefeated champs.
Whereas Jones has proven time again hes not unbeatable
Joe would be a handfull for anyone in history![]()
Dude since when does someone being undefeated matter?
Do you honestly rank Lacy(one of the two undefeated) in the same league as Hopkins or toney?
Lets not forget Reggie Johnson had James Toney very hurt and against people like Tarver and such he came close to defeating them at his old age.
Jones on the other hand dominated him like no one has.
Roy Jones' resume is better then Joe Calzaghe's.
and to markus
Why would you ignore that Calzaghe beat a weight drained Chris Eubank with barely enough time to prepare for him but are so quick to point out that The body snatcher was an older age, and like ICB said he went on to give James Toney a tough fight and still had greatness in him.
And to ross again, how would Joe outwork Jones in his prime?
You mean like Bryant Brannon tried to? By throwing 100 punches against Jones, when only a few of them landed and Roy punching him between the gloves.
I think people forget that Rou was a very very good counter puncher especially when people tried to pressure him he would always punch between the guard with his combination punching.
Calzaghe who showed against Hopkins he can be countered in between his flurries when Hopkins only threw one straight right hand which knocked Calzaghe off balance, how do you think Roy's right hand especially at 168 would have done to Joe. And if Roy had Joe down like Hopkins did(on the first right hand Hopkins threw) then Roy would have finished him.
Calzaghe isn't in the same league as Roy Jones. And Prime for Prime Jones would destroy Joe.
Joe is a good fighter, but Roy is in another class alltogether. How can someone who struggles against someone Roy beat 10+ years ago expected to beat Roy?
Roy lost and looked vulnerable only after he came back down from heavyweight and losing that muscle and that can truly mess you up for quite a while. I've yet to see Calzaghe take that kind of risk.
And Roy didn't get caught cheating with steroids, did you even follow the story?
It was Ripped Fuel over the counter, and Richard Hall tested positive as well
The Type A test they gave Roy was what came out saying he was over, the second B test said he was clean.
Why do you think his victory stands?
If the type B test was positive then the victory would have been taken away changed to a no contest and Roy would have been suspended.
None of that happened? Why do you think? Because the second test was negative.
So jones didn't get "busted" for steroids.
Joe is still unbeaten and hasnt been cheating with steroids
It matters alot that Joe took on young undefeated champs and beat them up, well in to his thirties, when was the last time Jones could say that?
Joe aint on Jones level your right, hes on a level above, he knows how to keep winning
Jones had his day, dont fret that he couldnt match Joes gameness and winningness
Also, if getting dropped is being close to losing then didnt Roy come close to losing against a vry ordinary David Telesco? Hmmmm

Which undefeated person that joe beat was close to hopkins or toney?
I think you're talking out of your ass right now.
I watched the David Telesco fight with my dad, and Roy won that fight easily with a fractured wrist and dominated him and afterwards the HBO crew gave him a birthday cake.
You just saying that he came close to losing to David Telesco throws out the rest of your argument, he beat the crap out of him and didn't lose one round. How did he come close to losing?
