I do not think there is any 'hate' for Hatton on this board, with one exception, who I believe Saddo has given a few days off, to reflect.

Sooner or later Hatton was always going to be in a close fight, in which some on the board think Collazo nicked. I do not think he did, but I can respect and understand anyone who had it a draw or a Collazo win by a point, because after all 90% of scoring is personal interpretation of the rules.

And I do not like the dig at the American posters here, as has been pointed out, a lot of the Brits have criticized Hatton and some of the Americans on the board have come to his defence.

IMO 95% of the people who have criticized Hatton on this board, after his performance at the weekend, have done it very constructively and with sound reasoning.

He won and it was alot closer than alot of you guys think, there are at least 5 rounds which i wouldnt argue with any of the two guys getting, lets judge Ricky after he settles in at 147, i mean Floyd looked good in his 147 debut against a 140 lb has been, so lets sit back and see what happens.
Whoooooooaaaaaaa there....You're comparing Hatton-Collazo to Calzaghe-Lacy? no comparison...Calzaghe is an excellent Boxer/Puncher....Hatton is a puncher/brawler at 140....don't get it twisted...Floyd's loss of hand speed was not noticable and he still has his power....Hatton looked slowww....Hatton's style is all wrong for bigger better fighters that know how to box.....and NEVER hurt Collazo....and the biggest factor of all for those that think Hatton is bigger than Floyd...Floyd is 5-8 with a 72" reach...Hatton is 5-6 with a 65" reach....Floyd can and will become a true welterweight...Hatton doesn't have the frame to effectively carry the extra weight....Hatton was succumbing to all the hits he took against Collazo and was out on his feet an very easily could and should have been KO instead he was able to hold on for dear life...he can't get out of the way of punches at this weight....Not only has this never happened to PBF he is as slick as he was at 140....Floyd didn't EAT his way to 147 he trained to get to 147.....Lacy was overhyped and still a little green to get in the ring with the likes of Calzaghe......Hatton was overhyped as well....Collazo won that fight...We'll see who wins in the rematch...
    Get what twisted

PBF can grow into the weight but Hatton cant?? How do you work that one out?? HATTON IS THE BIGGER MAN!!! So is corrlaes bigger than Tyson because he has a bigger height and reach difference?? Ricky is naturally bigger than Floyd. Also the compasions between the two fights wasnt the styles you muppet, try and read the thread next time before you comment, i was talking about the reaction of so called boxing fans, i was pointing out Hatton has got more stick than Lacy got and the difference being Ricky won and Lacy lost every round, my point was there is a bit of American told you so all over this, nothing to do with the styles.
my reply was to the fact you think Hatton had an off night...he didn't...he finally stepped up in competition and had it handed to him....And as for hatton being bigger than Floyd your nuts...Floyd is broader than Hatton hence the 7 inch reach advantage....it's not just about arm reach it also includes finger tip to finger tip......So lets see.. Floyd is TALLER and WIDER!!! what the h*ll are you looking at Hatton with a magnifying glass? hatton looked SMALL agains Collazo...He will look SMALL compared to PBF...and to try to throw in a Corrales/Tyson comment? that was so far off it merits no additional response....
Collazo was underated, and turned out to be a GOOD fighter. But are you honestly going to tell me he's a step up from the GREAT CHAMPION Kostya Tsuyu. How often were you dropped on your head as a child exactly While I wait for your "Kostya was shot" piece of crap response I would like to point out that Ricky is the reason Kostya is now semi retired, Ricky made him look old.

yeah hatton is taking a hell of a lot of shit on this site after saturday. but the hatton haters have always had something to moan about. and the statement that lacy took way more shit than hatton is from the calzaghe fight is bollocks. lacy's performance was completely overshadowed by everyone goin on about how awesome calzaghe was (fair enough) and how brave lacy was.
i say look at it this way, hatton once again showed his heart and still won the fight even when he was having a hell of an off night.

I hope Hatton is very successful here in the U.S. but I did not like how the ref. let him get away with all of the grabbing and holding while hitting. Heck, he got away with more than he did when he fought Kostya (like that blatent hit in the nuts) in England.

are you fucking blind mate. hatton didn't get away with anything of saturday. loads of times when he got close enought the ref split it up. hatton usually does his best work up close but wasnt given the chance by the ref constantly breaking it up.

That is not easily answered; it is boxing; styles make fights.

Lloyd Honeyghan annihilates a contender for #1 pound for pound in the world, in Don Curry, then one year later loses to glorified journeyman Jorge Vaca...

That is why you can often over analyse one performance. To put a single performance in perspective you sometimes have to wait until the fighters concerned have retired.

Jbird you are in severe denial for your countryman and I am sorry buy Ricky's constant rushing in to tie up one of Collazzo's arms to get in a punch and keep from being punched looked so desperate.

So your basically saying he has to hold to do his best work? Being that was the only time they were broken up.

Why does Hatten have to be overrated, everybody knows that styles make fights. Going into this one, everybody knew that collazo was a southpaw, which Hatten has always had trouble with. This was stated on this site before the fight. As a matter of fact that was one of the reasons some of you picked L.C.
Collazo had a good fight and lost. Even according to the number of punches thrown hatten landed more. So they weren't pretty. Hatten set the pace and stayed on his man constantly, that was his plan, it worked.
By the way this from an American.

Thats understandable but like i've said I've seen quite a few of his fights and he showed the same flaws then that he does now.But now that it was very visible in this fight his fans don't want to admit that.I'll admit hes good if you guys can admit he ain't as good as you all thought.

the fight was much closer than the punch stats revealed and thus undoubtedly rigged as with the Frietas/Raheem fight where thankfully the judges saw it correctly for a change.
