I'm think Tyson Gay will win it!!
Yea im into track and field used to do track and field back in high school. As for those times incredible just incredible but Michael Johnson at 400m was the greatest runner i've ever seen.

Yes been following it, and agree it should be the one of the best ever.

And a special shout out to their doctors for so far having their illegally assisted drugs going undetected!

They should just allow steroids in the 100 meters as I doubt there's any major star who hasn't takent them, same with the Tour De France.

Yes I am. I've been a fan of Gay since he was at LSU that's when I really got into track.

Usain Bolt just looks like a phenom though, has there ever been a runner with such long legs that was so good in the first 50 meters? I mean it's unbelievable the starts he gets. I watched the qualifier where he ran against Powell last weekend and again was just blown away and this is a guy who has less then 10 meets at 100 meters and he's doing this! It's ridiculous, I'm a big Gay guy (Rick Majerus shout out), but it's hard not to like Bolt.

And then of course Asafah Powell. Who would have thought at this time last year that Asafah Powell would be almost an afterthought here? But momentum is definitely not on his side here.

I'm super excited for the 100 meters I can not wait.

On the womens side I think Hooker takes it. Hopefully for America Gay and Hooker take home gold to create the funniest newspaper headlines of all time.

Love the Olympics - fuck darwin this is evolution at it's best baby.

All those god luvin son's a bitches who think evolution is a crock need to look at the way records in track and field are broken over and over. And i'm not talking about the evolution of drugs (they are a godsend too) but the legit records getting beat over and over through time.

What do records being broken have to do with evolution? It's not progress, human arn't evolving better physically it's just a combination of better diet and training methods plus the factor of time.

Look at this way, even if there was no improvements whatsoever to the human body over time records would improve anyway.

Consider dice rolling. No way to evolve better rolls of a dice but if you roll dice for a 100 years trying to get the most consecutive 6's in a row, I can pretty much guarantee the longer you keep doing it the more the consecutive records will increase.

Besides the Olympics represents 0.0000000000000000000001% of the population.

Why not take a look at the other 99.99999999999999999999% in America and the rest of the Western World and tell me if they are in better shape than their ancestors 100 years ago

Of course it is evolution, the human body can only take so much training, take boxing, they say the optune amount is 3 months of hard core training, u do to much you will fuck your self up.

Yes there are better ideas and such from 100 years ago, but science and diets haven't greatly changed for top flight athlets in a while, records continue to be broken and will do so for 100s of years to come, not because of diets, or training tips, because of evolution baby

Agreed. Sports, amongst other things, define how far man has come and the evo of man to be greater and greater. Of course 90% of the dumbells who win medals thank God 1st for their victories instead of themselves and the people before them that set the standards that drove those people to be better. Records are meant to be broken; not just equaled.

Of course, God might set a new record when he place kicks me for being a non-believer
