I'm just making a guess here--but after reading the article again, it seems to me that this isn't a prospect Gossen is too excited about. Seems like it's Peterson pushing for this. I say this because the opening offer was $2.5 million, which Gossen surely knew he was not going to come close to getting. His quote about the potential of the fight also seems less than enthusiastic. If the financial demands don't come down, we'll know that Gossen never wanted the fight to begin with. He's been around the block, he knows what Mora and Winky got offered, knows what it'll take to make the fight. So, we'll see how serious Gossen is. I think he's just half-heartedly following a demand of Peterson's and hopes he can report back that Arum wouldn't pay Williams what he was worth.
