Why do people keep saying he had a bad night. He fought like hatton. He didn't throw as many punches because a)he wasn't allowed to hold as much b)he didn't like what was coming back. I rather you say ww are too big for him than to say it was a bad night cause he fought his fight. It just wasn't enough to blow the guy away. As far as a rematch Collazo would be much more relaxed now knowing that hes on the same level as hatton. Once he figured hatton out in the early parts it was looking kinda easy at times. In a rematch he outpoints him from round 1 and might get the ko when hatton starts to get desperate.
Step up so I can put you down

No matter where we gringos go we are called yanks are yankees. This could possibly be due to the fact that forriegn countries often consider the winners of the civil war as the true reprasentatives of our country. They also realize that the word yankee is a positive symbol for the fight for freedom for it was us Yanks that ended slavery not only in the U.S. but in Britian, Spain, and Latin america as well.

Unfortunately, there are a few jellous antiamericans who like to use Yank in a derogatory manner. Notice how jbird calls us F.....king Yanks.

Of course Hatton has flaws as a fighter, that is why he is so liked, no one, particularly in Britain, likes perfection. We like our heroes flawed and to be considered underdogs and exciting, that is a big reason why a Bruno or Sir 'enry, are all but considered royalty, while Lewis, who was fairly easily better than both, had such a relatively lukewarm following in Britain.

Well said mate and it does need to be said!!!
Hatton has one 3 world titles at 2 different weights in 10 months.
Certain US members really don't like the fact that our top flight boys are doing the business and in emphatic (calzaghe making a total prick out of Jeff Chase me ..Sorry ~Lacy)
I feel strongly the need to not (and i will not for one f*cking second) sit back and have my fellow country men slated for their superb achievements over the last year.
Maybe it's because the US is so much bigger than the UK that we are getting tosser after tosser trying to blame the ref,the judges or whatever to save face over the fact that Ricky done the business in their back yard
Like when Nigel Benn smashed the utter KUNT out of IRAN (for cover) Barklay back in the day in his backyard (They did not like that up em either)
Ricky could have chosen a MUCH easier fight than a full blown Welter but you gotta understand that we (The UK) ain't about that and anyone who slates the Boy for his efforts over the last 10 months is just a jealous fool.
Some of the people and some are senior members and even Moderators of the site have really shown their true colours since Hatton/Collazo
And why the f*ck do you (some) have to turn it into a US/UK war of words.??
Be Happy for our fighters achievments and accept the you HAVE NOT the strangle hold over World boxing that you are used to.
Look at the Heavyweight division for starters 3 outta 4 Champs are Euro Title holders FFS.
The Chinese are starting to become strong and then of course check our dominance at the Commonwealth games

Then go check on Nicky Cook,Amir Khan and Kevin Mitchell to name a few (all on the way or on the edge of world glory)
Some of our USA members really have made dickheads out of themselves in the last few days and i really do mean that!!
Shame on you and Well done Ricky for having the balls to do what you do best....
Yeah Collazo had him hanging in the 12th but watch again as Ricky comes straight back in his face for the tear-up.
Like i said it's what we are all about mentality wise so get F8cking used to it.
Rule Britania and back the f*ck off our Boys
    SMASHUP OUT!!
And BIG UP THE SKEL for having balls like Hatton and standing his F*CKING GROUND
    RESPECT BAD BWOY!!!
Ok,Ok, calmdown. Take a deep breath. Now just because you Brits come up with a good fighter once every 10 or so years, doesn't mean you rule the world again. Oh wait was that the pesky french.(Who almost never have a good fighter.)

Damn right. We love being the underdog, we love rooting for the underdog. We love heart and courage more than finesse and skill (see the popularity of Gerrard or Terry over David Beckham or Britkids boxing refs). Hatton will always be popular in England. We arent fickle and will stick with him to the end because he has every quality we could want in a British fighter. That being said.....

So you disagree that a country with a larger population isl likely produce a larger quantity of good athletes?

I personal think that from the few fights i have seen from Hatten, that befor he starts fighting the top ranked WW, he should take some notes from fighters like Tyson(early days), in that he should develop a defence aginst taller fighters. And not eat so many punches as he is trying to get to the inside.

I think as a larger population you may have more athletes but not necessarily better athletes. In a larger country good athletes are more easily overlooked.
