Haye will take some fights before fighting the real big boys in the division. He has to adjust to the weight and it builds his profile. No way is he going straight for Klitscko's. When he is ready, in a couple of years, I feel he will become champion.

There was also the article on the bbc website about this apparent "dinner date" with Wladimir and David Haye. Haye doesn't strike me immediately as one of the fighters who could be terribly irritating and arrogant when he's away from the public eye, but the Klitschko brothers are the ultimate ambassadors for the sport, so I'd take Wlad's word in this case.

If Haye was acting like a prick in what should have been a cordial meeting between the two, then if I was Wlad I'd tell him to come back in a few years when he's grown up. This is boxing, not kids fighting in the playground, and they should act like men, not children.

I give it 3 fights and if Haye dazzles he will get Klitschko...

Haye barring a catosrophic dissapointment or just fails at that weight, has the potential to beat Klitschko with his abilities..

Haye is strong and quick and has showed grit, not to mention he is very confident, I see Klit being to Tentative, he would need to get Haye out early, cause there is no way he will keep David at bay with just pawing the jab all nite, Haye is to fast and will move into range and when he connects it will be tough for Klitschko to keep his composure

I'm a big Haye fan but I don't like arrogant fighters and since the Enzo win Haye has started mouthing like Malignaggi, calling them all bums is one thing and then saying they're all getting KNFO is another. I'm actually starting to hope that Wlad hit's Haye big on the chin and shuts him up as he's annoying me now with all this name-calling.

I agree with everything other than "Wlad being 'too tenative' ".

This fight DESERVES to be built up, if Haye is what you Brits think he is and not just another Audley Harrison then fine, let Haye earn it and let the fight live up to expectations.

Wlad's jab is far from "pawing" it's damn near a power punch in itself and everyone will tell you that from Ray Mercer to Lamon Brewster to Sultan Ibragimov.

Sure the heavyweight division is at a lack of consistant stars but this cruiserweight division is hardly a breeding ground of all-time greats either....

So you Haye fans just better hope David's promotional team doesn't pair him with a tough fighter liek Tony Thompson, Sultan Ibragimov, or Alexandre Dimitrenko......there are very tough fights out there for both Wlad and Haye but if the cards are played correctly this fight will happen and we're going to get our money's worth.

Right now I see Wlad flattening Haye easily because David Haye hasn't taken a true heavyweight punch yet but I leave my opinion open to be influenced by future events

Worrying thing from a british perspective is that haye is worryingly a lot like fraudley harrison.

Although in ring he is technically much sounder and packs a far more devastating artillery, he also seems to enjoy the lifestyle of being a boxer rather than actually getting down to work every once in a while.

Haye claims he only wants 2-3 more years of boxing yet is taking 6months off to put on solid muscle for an assault on the heavyweight division. At the very same time he claims he`ll have the division cleaned up and will retire as undisputed heavyweight champ.

Wishful thinking even for someone like him, Haye needs 3 fights a year bare minimum for this even to become a distinct possibility and i just dont see him prepared to go all out to do so.

I suspect like fraudley he is very much talking up a much bigger fight than he is actually worth

ahahaha great vid Rob. I gotta say even though he's a Brit I can't wait to see him get knocked the fuck out by Wladimir.

I want him to put an absolute beatdown on his ass. You can tell he's been hanging out with Audley Harrison, he has an ego the size of Jupiter.

Haye would destroy old china chin Klitschko.
I doubt he us making excuses already...If you read the whole article then you would understand that your statement sounds like a fanboy...

Why does Haye deserve just to move up to HW and get a shot at the HW title right off the go?....Name one reason?..and the fact he is CW champion does not float as a legit reason
In my book that's a much better reason than some of the other heavyweight challengers have.

I definately think Haye has the power to take Wlad out. Not a doubt in my mind. Haye also has the speed and skill to land.

Having said that, Wlad also has the power to KO Haye.

I think it would be an amazing fight.

Klitschko would win because he is bigger, and his jab would totally control Haye. I mean Haye definitely has boxing skills, but so does Klitschko, and Haye has as suspect of a chin as Klitschko does. I know that Klitschko can take one or two punches from a big heavywieght hitter, Peters, Brewster, Sanders, but if you hit him too many times he will fall. However how will Haye feel like after he gets hit by a legitimate puncher at heavyweight weight? We don't know, it probably won't be all that bad, but regardless Klitschko will control this fight with his jab, and drop Haye with a right hand or a left hook.

If Haye establishes himself at heavyweight then a matchup with Wlad will be the biggest fight that could be made. Of course in the mean time Wlad can defend his titles and try and unify the other titles.

Haye better not get caught up in his own hype...Audley Harrison did that and look where it got him

Haye is a bit arrogant in his attitude which i dont usually like. But he's also pretty smooth..in a real way like it his nature to be smooth. Not some manufactured fake persona that a lot of people put on.

I havent watched a whole lot of him yet, but am already becoming a fan. He's an athletic fighter, I like his style. I like his confidence,he will make good fights and always be entertaining.

I think he could give Wlad some problems, even now. I wouldnt bet against Wlad, but if Haye came out strong he has got speed, power, and athleticism he could catch Wlad and possibly put him away. Though if the fight went the distance then Wlad would probably end up destroying Haye, mentally and physically.

I would really like to see this fight. Risky as hell for Haye to want this fight without testing the waters first, but that confidence may be what gets him to the top.

Wlad's defense has improved, his punching has always been big and he is a very athletic fighter as well.

David Haye has a lot of things going for him but Wlad can negate what Haye brings to the table.

Size - at 6'3 Haye is a decently sized cruiserweight but at 6'6 Wlad will easily be the biggest guy Haye has ever fought

Power - Haye can crack but Wlad has the exact same KO percentage as Mike Tyson, he's more deliberate in his approach but he gets it done.

Handspeed - Haye has quick hands but Wlad can pull the trigger mighty quick for a guy that big

Experience - Wlad has been hurt and come back to win, he's been down and come back to win, he has been the Champion AND the Challenger multiple times....Haye has SOME experience just not as much.

If worse comes to worse Wlad can gut out a win and be dominant with the jab enough to get by on points as well.

I'm not saying Haye doesn't have a chance.......but then again

Here's one of Haye's coronaters. The guy isn't even proven at heavyweight and you want him in with the top guy. It's reasonable for Wlad to say he needs to show he belongs in the division before he fights the linear champ. There's a dozen guys we don't know that Haye could beat before coming to Klitschko. And before you call Klitschko's chin 'china' realize his problem is the same as Haye's: if he pushes too hard he gets tired and susceptible to being kayoed.
    Oops
