Yes he is. He lost his appeal yesterday but they weren't really expecting to win that anyways, they just had to get that out of the way before going to an independent arbitrator where he has a much better shot at winning the team. Pretty cold if he's left off, he did earn his way there by fighting.

He wouldn't have must of a shot anyways but that's not the point. Yanez' exclusion means an 8 man team for the US, I can't recall the US ever having a team so small. Even in the dismal 2004 games they had 11.

I'm hoping Andy Little can do a lot, apparently he hits extremely hard for a 60kg fighter. I guess i'll see for my own eyes which I can't wait

Great thread and review btw mate!

First six Middleweight fights over (6 more later today). No surprises yet, but seemingly comfortable victories (I have unfortunately not watched the fights) all around.

Some interesting match-ups to follow in the round of 16: Betting favorite Matvey Korobov against welterweight gold medallist from Athens Bakhtiyar Artayev and British hope James DeGale against American hope Shawn Estrada. The winners of those matches will meet in the quarterfinal btw (with the winner guaranteed a medal). I'm still saying Korobov.

What is it with Sal and Central-Asian fighters btw?
