It's FAR safer than it used to be. In fact, it's as safe as it can be without taking away the EXITEMENT of the sport, the thing we all watch it for. I don't feel guilty, it's still prize fighting at the end of the day, you can get injured or killed in many sports.

Just because we watch the skills of the fighters rather than a casual fan just waiting for someone to drop, I don't think we have anything to feel guilty about fella.

Safer than ever, yes, but still incredibly dangerous. Of course you can get hurt in other sports, but in what other sport besides MMA is the sole purpose of the athletes to give your opponent a brain injury? So I think simply saying that its safer now or that you can get injured in other sports too is hardly justification.

Just as much to do with defense as it does Offense at times and is much more than Inflicting brain Injurys??.Its another physical sport where bodies clash and as unfortunate as it is...sometimes people get hurt. No,we should not brush it off or just except it even,No one wants This...No one but it is the bull in the china shop that rears its ugly head at times. Its not in need of "justification"....The inherant risk's are known and on the minds of any fighter that has ever stepped into the ring at one time or another.
