Bazan at 5 11 weighed in at 142, Mike Alvarado a great deal shorter at 141, both about 151 tonight.

Bazan was beat over ten by McCloskey earlir this year, he's hot to hell, Alvarado has power so will be cool to see can he snatch a KO

Alvarado vs Bazan; Round 1

Bazan actually jabbing in this fight. Alvardao seems heavy handed. Alvardao lands a looping right early; hard.
Alvarado on the backfoot, hands up high, he's very tight.
Alvarado muscling Bazan with body shots and some headshots. Bazan searching wityh uppercuts,Bazan sloppy, despite the insistence of Emmanuel Steward that he's "relaxed."
Alvardo, certainkly powerful, but relying WAY too much on power.

Bazan won the first. Bazan looking more expierienced. But Alvarado looking the more powerful man. Its a ten rounder.
Bazan uppercut to the body beginning to be blocked by Alvarado. Alvarado is just waiting too long, preferrring to take punches on the gloves and then counter rather than jab.
Crowd are critical.
Lazy jabs from Alvarado, but he fires a wide left hook that scores.
Bazan scoring well, Alvarado putting in consistent work toward the end.

Alvarado finally jabbing!
29-28 so far according to HBO.
Jab comingg well now. Bazan is less active now, but by no means neglecting...never mind he turns it on again!
Alvarado pumping the jab fairly well.
Connecting with more straights on Bzan now, Bazan is losing this round heavily, but as he's moving back he's taking the sting from Alvarado.
Bazan gets backed to the ropes, ships some opunishment, returns, but takes a knee after a right...removes mouthpiece.....IRT is over!

Too young for Bazan....Bazan made it a show, but he let it go.....Nice warmup.

cheers man...this the first fight ive been home to check in on. usually at uni n cant get the channels out there. i was looking forward to catching the concepcion fight, maybe they will show it at the end? this is my big problem with setanta...sky PPV start earlier and show more of the card...i guess i cant complain too much though. we had 4 boys round earlier, theyve all gone home too tired lol, im on my lonely now!!
