Bayliss did the right thing, and Margie deserves the W, but you sure could make a better argument for a DQ than Cortez did a couple of weeks ago!!

WAR COTTO
What Tony pulled was amazing. Cotto landed harder and Tony didnt stop.
Margarito did to Cotto what Cotto did to Judah
Cotto came to box. Margarito came to war. All heart, how many hellacious punches did Margarito walk through? It was insane, I cant believe he pulled it off

AN AMAZING FIGHT!!
my friend who isn't a huge boxing fan was sitting with me watching and he was just amazed at the punishment Margarito was taking and kept walking forward throwing punches..
I cannot wait! to watch this in HD when HBO replays it!

hahah, i know..
so far, i have this as FOTY.. It had all the drama from when Cotto was hurt in the 6th or 7th and almost KD'd, to when Cotto comes back out seemingly full of steam and still landing accurate shots, to when Margarito finally finished Cotto off..
the only thing this fight was missing was that Margarito didn't go down, but i can get over it.. FOTY so far..
I'm not sure if it can be fight of the year. I thought Pacquaio-marquez was more dramatic. This fight Cotto had such a handle on the fight for the first 6 rounds it looked like he was fighting somebody who never boxed before, but then it suddenly shifted to him doing nothing and Margarito hitting him with sloppy punches for 3 rounds then Cotto mounted a small comeback, but it certainly wasn't a great back and forth fight where both guys were trading shots. EIther COtto was dominating or he wasn't doing anything.
It seems like you REALLY don't want to give credit where credit is due. You say Cotto either dominated or did nothing?! I completely disagree. Did Cotto show, especially early, that he is the better technical boxer...absolutely. But boxing is sometimes about more than "who is the better boxer." Sometimes pure will and determination overwhelm a superiorly skilled fighter. That's what happened tonight. Cotto threw everything he had at Tony. I have never seen Cotto land with more crispness and power than he did in this fight. But Margo took it all and didn't budge. That broke Cotto's will. He simply was mentally AND physically spent late in this fight. What Tony lacked in skill, he more than made up for with having incredible stamina and chin. Bottom line...Cotto's porous defense and iffy chin where always a reciepe for disaster. And against a fighter with Tony's relentlessness and determination...Cotto was going to be put to the ultimate test. And he failed...but not without giving it his all. So it's a disrespect to Cotto (and Tony) to write that he did "nothing" for the second half of this fight. I have so much respect for both of these fighters and Cotto deserves a lot of credit for taking this fight in the first place. These are the kind of fights and fighters that boxing needs
Props to Tonyyyy!!!
I was pulling for Cotto but Tony was a machine in there tonight.
Cotto threw everything except a lot of body shots. I wonder if a body attack would have helped him. Because he was getting very little accomplished with the head shots.
