Cotto was making margarito miss a lot when he went on his bicycle and pot shotting. At one point i though cotto was going to pull ahead. The problem was he tired from too much bicycling.

They should call Margarito The Titanium Tijuanan.

I don't see how this makes any of you believe Margarito has any sort of chance against Floyd. I mean Floyd is so much better at backing up then Cotto, he's way hard to hit, he's way faster of foot. I think if anything the first 6 rounds showed that Margarito can be badly outboxed, and Mayweather is still head over shoulders the best boxer in the world. Margarito is a good fighter, but no way can he catch Mayweather.

I think Cotto tired from not being able to breath due to his nose and mouth bleeding. The nose gives you the best oxygen intake, and it was bleeding way too much.

still think Margarito is a joke? ill quote you...

AT this stage Oscar is a way better fight than the current Mosley, and look how that fight turned out... It would be a great fight between Cotto and Oscar, and I am way more interested for that then Cotto fighting a joke like Margarito.

Danny G. I repect you standing by your man and giving props to Margo...but i cannot get this out of my mind a couple of months:

Danny G:
Yes, I said DROPPED. How many Tony fights have you studied? 2?
Watch his whole career and watch him get dropped several times.
Cotto has more than enough tools to win.
And yes I saw the second fight. I said this fight would be no different from the first fight.
Cotto is no Cintron.
Cotto is no Gatti

That little gem was followed by comparing Marg to Gomez…hmmmm looked like Tony flipped that script.
There was some other crap about Cotto doing a rope a dope…nah that didn’t happen eithe. You went on to take away some rep and call me a noob.....beginners luck for me I guess.

Well done to both fighters.
Cotto boxed superbly, but the patience, poise and determination Margo showed in stalking the guy I have and always will shoput for was incredible.

Big up to Margarito.
Big up to Miguel Cotto.

I am literally sick right now! This is exactly what I was afraid of when this fight was announced. Cotto couldn't keep up the pace and he was beaten down bottom line. You cannot hurt Tony, but Floyd would still make him look bad. One thing Floyd, is no matter what anyone says is a tremendous athlete, and he would not tire against Margarito. Cotto started getting a little hollywood with those glasses and that outfit to the weigh in. Margarito was reppin' Mexico and Cotto was reppin' Mark Echo WTF! Excuse me for my drunken venting!
I know everything about nothing!

I agree though, Miguel Cotto wasn't fighting Miguel Cotto's fight. as against Mosely, he can counter off the ropes, but he also gets hit way too much off the ropes.

As Hatton, Dela Hoya, Ndou, Chavez, Baldomir would all tell you, when Mayweather doesn't want to get hit its a nightmare trying to hit him even, especially, on the ropes. Also Cotto wasn't tying Margarito up at all when he was on the ropes... Mayweather would slip under the left hook and clinch, move away counter, land some jabs, make Margarito miss 15 punches on the ropes, rinse/dry/repeat.

I liked this fighht.Fun stuff Margarito simply walked him down...point blank but Cotto had moments with stick & move in spots. This was Margaritos game plan executed.Tell ya what...I'd rather see rematch before the either ODH or Mayweather merrit the big show

A great night huh Spicoli'?

Let them have a rematch; same outcome but maybe earlier. This will leave a lasting impression on Cotto and not sure how he'd react when he steps in again with Margarito.

Props to Cotto, that guy never quits. Cintron wouldn't have made it 5 rounds with Tony tonight.

I still say Floyd beats Tony pretty decisively. Cotto would be a harder fight for Floyd and I would still love to see a Cotto/Mayweather match up.

i agree cotto would still be harder for mayweather simply because cotto is quicker and has more sharper/accurate punches.. compared to a pressure fighter who floyd, at this point of his career has fought enough pressure fighters, that he could dispose of him in his sleep..

but i don't even know what comes next..

I don't see mayweather defeatin margarito. Cotto put on a brilliant defensive show and was still steamrolled by tony.

Tony may seem simple at times but from what Ive seen,Mayweather would lose much sleep indeed Vs. Margarito.By no means is that a gimme after this....come on?There's only so much ring to waltz with and Tony insist's that you stand your ground.....

The body work early won this fight. Cotto slowed down enough for the slower Tony to catch him and finally start landing some rights to go with the lefts. Great fight, great game plan, Margarito is relentless!

The announcers failed in this one. Cotto was taking major major punishment those last 3 rounds and they ignored it. I wasn't sure he'd come out for the 11th.

PS I drew the 11th round in our pool and won some much needed loot.
