I'm going to address what I think are the three best points thus far:

    1. HBO commentators are F*ing hypocrites. They spent the whole night rooting for Cotto, even saying he was winning the fight "even though he looks like the loser." Sounds like the fix was in on the cards (lol)... Then they same commentators said it was only a matter of time b/4 Marga knocked him out, and it could be dangerous for fighters to stay in the ring too long (when you know they can't win)...?

    2. They gave no real love to Margarito. The discussion revolved around Cotto's loss, which continued through the video clip (which did NOT show Marga, only his punches to Cotto) onto the end of the broadcast. I wouldn't be surprised if Marga did NOT fight there again--JUST LIKE NATE CAMPBELL.

    3. They way they questioned Cotto's ability to come back from being 'broken, when they clearly say the damage he took, when they were riding his nuts all night, until he didn't come out for the inteview.

    Thx for the post!!!

I think people are blowing the HBO thing out of proportion. Look at it this way, Cotto was favored to win, so in a round-a-bout way, Cotto losing is a bigger story than Margarito winning. When Tyson lost to Buster Douglas, people were more fascinated with seeing replays of him on the canvas struggling to get his mouthpiece in rather than seeing Douglas with his hands raised like Rocky. Even though it's rare to have a fight as great as this take place, it's much more rare to see an undefeated champion get beaten into submission. HBO was playing to what intrigued people more.
