also if margarito doesnt get a shot at delahoya he should definitely go for a rematch with either paul williams or clottey. clottey looked real good early in their fight before breaking his hand.
Mayweather would get hit less in those first six rounds against Margarito, and he trains as hard if not harder than anyone in the sport. He moves around a lot more naturally than Cotto does, and he like Margarito gets stronger as the fight goes on. Cotto did well against Mosley, did well against Ndou, but you see how he was progressively being bullied more and more against both of them as they kept on walking through his bombs. However, like I've said a million times already that nose was a factor, and maybe Margarito would break it again, but without that stamina problem(nose induced or not) Cotto would have won thefight because he wasn't being hurt either by Marg's punches.

Agreed that Cotto should've gone more to the body. It was clear that his clean head shots were doing nothing to deter Margarito. I think he (Cotto) boxed beautifully... moving side to side... countering Margo expertly... sticking the jab in there. But the body attack was missing. But hey.... I wasn't the one in the ring last night. And I doubt Tony was going to stay still while Cotto was digging his shots to the body.

I wish I could say that a rematch would be different... but honestly, I think the outcome might be the same, only earlier.

I am not sure going to the body is the right thing to do vs Toni....you go to the body and you leave yourself open to be countered to the head and that's not smart vs Toni.

The only thing Miguel could have done is move more and that takes the starch out of your punches and tires you out even more.

I'm not sure it would be earlier Cotto isn't a quitter by any stretch of the immagination. And Toni can't go for broke vs Miguel because there is a chance however slight that Cotto catches him and DOES hurt him....that's a dangerous dude to be hurt against

In hindsight looking back now i can pinpoint moments during the 1st 5rounds that perhaps cotto should of been looking to really capitalise on when toni had no idea how he was going to deal with miguel boxing him so well on the backfoot.

I dont think theres too many people on here that didnt give at least 4 of the 1st 5 rounds to cotto and i remember various moments particuarly in rounds 3 or 4 when i was all but convinced marg was going to get stopped late on.

What turned the fight was antonios absoloute determination to walk through whatever miguel was prepared to throw and that 7th round which completely turned the fight on its head when cotto genuinely for about a couple of seconds put down his gloves and seemed to walk away from marg in a daze.

He never quite recovered from that and while cotto was trying to win the fight with a gameplan margarito went on pure instinct and decided he was going to throw as many single punches as humanly possible even if it meant he would blow out of steam late on!!

    Bring a baseball bat.

Oh and a shotgun for when the bat splinters on Tonys chin
