Sorry, I just didn't find it that terribly dramatic compared to other fights I've seen.
WTF does Pac have to do with this beautiful destruction of Cotto? Please leave Pac to Pac related topics!

Either COtto was dominating or he wasn't doing anything.
It can and will be fight of the year because it was clearly won by one fighter where as the JMM vs Pac ended in controversy. Also one fighter loss his unbeaten record and and god like aura

And still, those few punches that connected didn't do much impact as Tony kept walking like a tank.

I saw Cotto hurt with a body punch on the 2nd round and then boxed for the next rounds and from round 7 and on I saw Cotto holding for dear life.

TONNNNYYYY! Hell yeah I called that shit late k.o. by Margarito, what a fight. I knew it was a matter of time once I saw him walking through Cotto's shots. That was a great fight.

    Exactly!

Cotto showed great skill for the first 6 rounds...but he never HURT marg once!

Infact marg was never hurt the whole fight.

He never got rocked back even, he just walked through everything cotto gave him lol.

The man got pummelled by the same guy that bashed judah crapless, that broke malignaggi's face, that smashed gomez to pieces, who beat mosley.

YET HE ENDED UP BRUTALLY WEARING HIM DOWN AND MAKING COTTO'S FACE INTO A HAMBURGER!

Marg did much more damage to cotto's face than cotto did to marg.

The evidene is clear to see from the damage inflicted and the result. But i must say that i did think it looked like cotto was hiting marg with harder and more powerful, cleaner shots...but i think this goes to prove something ive thought all along...IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT LOOKS HARDER/CRISPER/SHARPER...MARG'S ATTACKS DIDNT LOOK ANYWHERE NEAR AS SHARP OR CRISP AS COTTO'S ATTACKS, BUT THEY DID FAR FAR MORE DAMAGE! You only have to look at cotto's face and the result to see he got battered sh1tless in the ring, he was battered into submission.

Marg is a classic marciano fighter, he is the mexican rocky! The guy keeps on coming and coming and doesnt get hurt.

All i can say is, WHO CARES ABOUT 'SHARPER, CRISPER SHOTS' WHEN YOU CAN BATTER OPPONENTS INTO A WALKING ZOMBIE AND HAVE A GRANITE CHIN?

In the end, marg obviously did something right with his shots (i agree aswell that they didnt look as powerful, or look as sweet connections as cotto's did)...but when in that ring, THEY OBVIOUSLY WERE! Afterall, cotto's face showed it...it was such a great fight, a true war, PURE EXCITEMENT...I feel sorry for cotto, but in the end it is fights like this that make boxing such a great sport, a true battle and two great athletes performed against each other today in a real gritty battle, that is my fight of the year, massive respect for both fighters, but major props to tony for SILENCING THE DOUBTERS AND THE HATERS!!! WAHOOO...I LOVE IT WHEN THE HATERS GET SILENCED!

Margarito might not be 'the best' boxer out there...but in the end who cares who is 'the best' boxer...its about being 'the peoples favourite boxer', the 'boxer with the most fans'...and tony has definately gained some fans tonight.

Floyd could fight tony and probably beat him...but all i can say is that 99% of people are gonna want to see tony batter floyd into submission if that fight ever took place (i doubt it will though).

He has definately become a peoples champion.

It seems like you REALLY don't want to give credit where credit is due. You say Cotto either dominated or did nothing?! I completely disagree. Did Cotto show, especially early, that he is the better technical boxer...absolutely. But boxing is sometimes about more than "who is the better boxer." Sometimes pure will and determination overwhelm a superiorly skilled fighter. That's what happened tonight. Cotto threw everything he had at Tony. I have never seen Cotto land with more crispness and power than he did in this fight. But Margo took it all and didn't budge. That broke Cotto's will. He simply was mentally AND physically spent late in this fight. What Tony lacked in skill, he more than made up for with having incredible stamina and chin. Bottom line...Cotto's porous defense and iffy chin where always a reciepe for disaster. And against a fighter with Tony's relentlessness and determination...Cotto was going to be put to the ultimate test. And he failed...but not without giving it his all. So it's a disrespect to Cotto (and Tony) to write that he did "nothing" for the second half of this fight. I have so much respect for both of these fighters and Cotto deserves a lot of credit for taking this fight in the first place. These are the kind of fights and fighters that boxing needs

    Props to Tonyyyy!!!

I was pulling for Cotto but Tony was a machine in there tonight.

Cotto threw everything except a lot of body shots. I wonder if a body attack would have helped him. Because he was getting very little accomplished with the head shots.

If you watched the fight with no audio you would see that each fighter was fighting his fight. The difference was that the announcers were so pro-Cotto no mention of the toll that Margarito was exacting on Cotto was even mentioned. In between rounds cotto looked Pale and incoherent after round 7. By round 8 he could not even sip water from the bottle his corner men were giving to him. At the 10 round point you could see Cotto was looking for a reason to quit. He was fighting just to survive by then.

Sorry, but in many eyes Pacquaio received a gift. A big reason he will not fight JMM at 130 again. At 135 he has a even a larger power and speed advantage over JMM. JMM could not hurt Pac at 126 or 130. So how stupid do you think most of us are to believe he has a chance at 135 ? What he needs to do his fight JMM at 130 again! But it shows the balls JMM has in doing anything to be able to get a 3rd fight. C'mon he is fighting Casamayor not a the worlds lousiest champion to date as in David Diaz.

No credit is being given to Margarito for nullifying any Cotto body shots by keeping him in a defensive mode. It was great to see the work Margarito did to Cottos body after hearing all his fans rave about how Cotto would be serving up ribs. I would normally jump all over their big mouths, but I feel sorry for them ! The fashion that their idol was reduced to a battered kneeing quitter was simply sad.

F**% HBO for not celebrating Margaritos destruction of Cotto! They literally pulled the mic from Margaritos mouth as he was speaking! HBO = No Class

Don't mind Taeth. His hatred for Tony is all-consuming and he will say anything to drag him down.

Fight of the year so far. Margarito wanted his shot and took full advantage.
