he was more hurt than tired, but he showed real heart in coming back to stand toe to toe with him despite almost getting knocked out.

I'm sorry to say but if Kostya retires, watch how fast he's forgotten about.
    I actually agree with that.

A year on and you still can't accept it!!

Kosta Tszyu did not retire at the end of the 11th round becuase Ricky Hatton had "HELD" him too much

Whatever you think of the tactics (and I really don't see it has being theat rough of a fight) Ricky out fought him

To quote KT "Ricky was better than me in every way tonight" If he belives that (and HE should no) and doesn't need to make excuses why does anybody else

Mate i dont have to accept it! Hatton fought dirty and thats the bottom line. Yes the holding did play a huge roll, hatton basically put all of his weight on kostya just to tire him out. If hattons such a great champion then why cant he fight without holding, why cant he fight without dirty tricks. Hatton won...ill accpet that but i wont accept how he did it!
Well you should coz Kosta did
Unlike kostya...i have watched the tape. He doesnt realise what went on in that fight, maybe if he watched it he could get some desire. Accept your boy ricky fights dirty and ill accept this.

Not hard to do. The only thing he's known for is knocking out Zab Judah who went on to be Undisputed Welterweight champ. that would have a major hold on Kostya(and a mystery to his greatness) eclipsed by the knockout of Mitchell after close to 2 years off. but quitting on the stool really hurt that.

Dominating a division for 7yrs doesnt do anything for him either does it He will never be forgotten in aus or russia, what the rest of the world does...who cares. He was never a house hold name in america or anywhere else except russia and aus.

I think Hatton would have got KO since US referee will no let him(Hatton) Hold and hit at hte same time like the people in manchester let him do.

lots of respect for ricky hatton for beating a champion like kostya quite easily, even though kostya is my fav boxer and im australian i think ricky hatton has one of those styles that would worry kostya again and even if the fight was in america ricky hatton would still have a great chance of victory.
