Miguel Cotto did try and box in fact he was boxing for majority of the fight but Antonio Margarito would constantly close the distance and not to sound nasty here but of course Miguel Cotto and his camp would disagree do you actually think they would say they would lose in a rematch ?

Miguel boxed yes, but on the backfoot. He has to come forward. Sorry, but as bad as Margarito is, he is not immune from a nice jab which Cotto has. Also Cotto will work the body more next time and not lay on the ropes.
Miguel Cotto can't come forward he can't fight Antonio Margarito on the inside and he for certain can't put Antonio Margarito on the back foot and as for Miguel Cotto's jab he landed plenty i believe he landed 100 plus of them so its not like he wasn't using it the thing i agree on is that he needs to go to the body more because he for certain didn't do his homework to the body.

Cotto's mistake was thinking he was onto to something with this new backfoot thing and it failed him. He needs to keep Tony from punching by punching more and not moving back ever. He can and will do this.
Joshua Clottey has a better chin than Miguel Cotto does i don't think Joshua Clottey stopped Antonio Margarito from attacking he gave him some problems but he didn't stop him attacking and your also forgetting how badly Joshua Clottey faded in the late rounds............

Antonio Margarito does lose rounds in the early going and has lost many of the early rounds in the past his style isn't about getting guys out of there early his style is to wear you down late break your will amongst other things.

    It isn't new at all.

Go back and watch the Cotto/Ceballos fight and Cotto basicly faught Ceballos the same way. Not with all his might that he used against Tony though. I am sure they will find another game plan and maybe stay in the pocket more and clintch before Tony can get off any shots. Cotto tried it the tough man way and It failed, I am sure he will find a smarter way even if it means having to hug Tony for the last few rounds or running like Sugar Ray Leonard did against Duran II If running and hugging all night is good enough for the so called pound for pound king, then it should be ok for a limited fighter such as Miguel Cotto
