I think number one has to go to Marciano's blasting of Jersey Joe. That may have been the most devastating right hand in boxing history. Joe was almost decapitated. My dad and I like to play fantasy match ups on the phone all the time and we both agree, for the era, no one could have made it up after that right. The Rock had iron in his hands. What a shot! I love to watch that replay over and over. That little shuffle with his gloves right before he winds up and Splat! Beautiful stuff. I saw it as a kid and my love was born right there.

Hard not to bring up Mercer's shellacking over Morrison. I dont think its a guarantee at all that Ray Mercer beats Tommy 10 out of 10 times, but boy he sure did that night. You've all seen it, and yes it wasnt just one punch, but if we're hyping KO's here, you best mention that one. F'n brutal, yes?

While technically not a knockout punch, I absolutely adore the Tyson/Bruno stoppage immediately after that uppercut/hook combo. Just a spectacular finish from a pretty tired Mike. Props to Bruno. He had a hell of a chin and refused to go down on many a night.

Underrated as well, you have to mention George Foreman's spectacular knockout of Kenny Norton. The very last left hook/uppercut- hybrid damn near pile-drived Kenny through the mat. Vicious. Spectacular. For God's sake, on the heels of bouncing Smokin Joe off the mat like a basketball just prior, this annihilation put George very close to the demented nightmarish and freakish imagery associated with Tyson in the late 80's. George, IN MY OPINION, was the baddest man on the planet just then, and would have ate Tyson's lunch prime vs prime. (Any of you about to tell me about Ali's snuffing of said nightmare, hear me well: Ali deserved the win, but George did as much to lose that fight as Ali did to win.)

Last, but not least, David Tua's younger hellish self blasting out Johnny Ruiz, the watchable version of Johnny Ruiz, early in their fight. Picture perfect Tua-left, followed by pain and confusion. The look on Ruiz's face staring up at the stars makes me giggle still all these years later.

That sort of stuff doesn't impress me. Brutal indeed, he damn near killed him. Great example of piss poor refereeing. Morrison took about 3-4 shots too many. And of course Mercer is clueless to the fact that his opponent is out on his feet, he just keeps on wailing away.

If you like this, then Cooney - Norton would be up your alley also.
