Shane wouldnt get stopped IMO Im pretty certain of that but keeping Tony off and doing enough to win is a big ask at this stage. Obvioulsy a 2001 Shane completely skools Tony in a mismatch but now they are much more evenly matched.

Shane Mosley has always been strong in the later rounds of a fight even against Miguel Cotto he swept the last 2 rounds........
But im really not sure about this fight Shane Mosley is a bit too much of warrior at times and he never has been a pure boxer he has always been boxer/puncher.........
Even in Shane Mosley's greatest performances he has never been able to sustain just boxing for the full 12 rounds...........
And theres also another problem Shane Mosley does get discouraged easily just look at his fights with Ronald "Winky" Wright and Vernon Forrest..........
And Antonio Margarito is possibly the most discouraging boxer to fight in current boxing i just can't see Shane Mosley winning this he doesn't hit as hard as Miguel Cotto and his speed as diminished and so has his footwork i see Shane Mosley getting stopped for the first time in his career late on.

Mosley has way too good of a chin, and ability to take body shots for Margarito to stop him, but like we've seen in Calzaghe-Hopkins, Pavlik-Taylor II the person who throws more punches in a close fight usually gets the nod.
I personally saw Mosley walk through just as hard if not harder Cotto punches than Margarito did. Their chin is on the same level.
Margarito would kick Shane's ass! He would give him the first k.o. of his career. Sugar is a shell of what he use to be. Against Cotto he was fighting like someone who was afraid to get hit, and he couldn't handle the constant pressure. So just imagine if he was to fight an animal like Margarito. Shane just don't have it anymore and he needs to just retire before he ends up getting hurt.
now that mosley isnt in his prime its 50/50 for me just like the voting poll lol
i think it would be close but Margarito would win on workrate.
It's funny how little respect Shane gets from some people for his performance against Cotto. The 36 year "old man" nearly won that fight (i personally had it a draw) against the younger champion. Shane was far from his best that night...his speed had noticably declined...but Shane should his great heart and conditioning. A prime Shane would box circles around Tony...Mosley was much faster and better conditioned in his prime than Cotto. That being said...the Shane of today could be in trouble against Tony. He doesn't have the speed to outslick him...and he definitely doesn't have the power to hurt him. But I still think Shane's great heart, conditioning, and skill would still make it a competitive and exciting fight. But i think Tony's relentless energy and granite chin would prove too much for him.
I'll go for a mosely split decision victory.
like others have said I would think Mosely is too experienced to get taken to the corners and worked on, I would think he would find a way out and pump that jab til the end.
I also have not seen that many Margarito fights, does he always fight like the Cotto fight? was that the best performance of his career? and can he pull out a effort like that again?
a spontaneous creation with multiple moods.
Mosely could win this he's not going to box like Cotto he'd be fighting Margo in the pocket thus making Margo ineffective; no way this ends in a TKO Margo may out work him whilst not landing anything meaningful.
