If Berto fought Margarito at this point and time all he wouyld be ready for is retirement....
As I said leading up to the Cotto fight....
Margarito is the baddest MoFo in the 147lb division....And that is saying a lot

People have a problem with Ring having him at #6... I can't think of 7 people P4P that can touch him... So I don't get their arguments.
He is absolutly the top guy. I have been pulling for him for a while.
He would obliterate Berto. It wouldn't even be funny... Like people would be cringing.
You Berto lovers listen up!
Berto is a flash in the pan.

The only thing that i can say is , that is too soon for Berto to take those guys , is like Daxx been saying , probably Berto could get the retirement.........

I agree, I'm a huge Berto fan and been pushing him for a while, but its to soon for him...
Lets say this fight does happen beginning of the year, and Berto hangs with him or by the grace of God squeaks out a victory he will have payed to big a price since he needs to tweak some defensive flaws, although he vastly improved he has a long way to go and would probably not be the same after the fight

Couldn't you say the same about Margarito? Sure he's got a hide as thick as an elephant, but Berto has some CRACK. The fact he's fought at middle and junior middle is testament to him being a big welter. He could very well hurt Margarito in a way no one else has been able to in the past considering Margarito also has defensive flaws and let's be honest- at least early on, Antonio will be absorbing the bulk of the punishment.

Well I agree to an extent, Berto has excellent upperbody movement and ultra fast hands to go with above average power... The thing is he lacks the experience mentally to go in with a guy as seasoned and grizzled as Margarito... Cotto couldnt deal mentally with the pressure and I doubt Berto can too
Like stated if he was to win and get torn up in the process it would be detrimental to his career moving forward to have dealt with such a tall order in Tony.. I would of said the same thing last week before the Cotto fight... Andre is 2 move up with steady competition fights away from MArgarito
