so let me guess your one of those guys who thinks cotto is fast because he beat a old mosley. cotto is slow he had more of a chance if he would have leaned against the ropes in the early rounds blocked and counter punched he wouldn't have be waisting alot of energy and with as many punches as margo was letting off he would have been the one to get tired cotto quicker then margo yes so since his deffence is so great it sould have been a cake walk. and i didnt say bertos de was better but he has way faster head move ment then cotto and hand speed and foot work with means its even faster then margo hints cotto being faster then margo

Berto is a fine work in progress and exciting to watch but Has done great against grade b & c fighters,Mosley & Margaritio are in an entirely different leauge of level of Comp and experience.I need to see a fighter get tested with solid top notch adversity before I crown him the next super man.I think right now Margarito would ask him questions in there that he would have no answer for and do some serious damage to still green Berto.Mosley still has enough to take him into deep waters as well.

No doubt - Berto should try his hand at someone like Quintana, Judah, or Collazo before getting in with the sharks.

Exactly. Berto's alligator mouth is overrunning his hummingbird ass.

im saying everyone says they want fighters to step up to the plate and fight the best and when berto says he's ready and wants to do that people put him down like he is talkin to big it could just be me but lately it seems like when a black fighter says there good or can take the big names he's talkin to tough but when margo was saying he was ready for pbf no one said anything or when arum is saying pbf retired because of cotto people are saying arum is dum but thats because he has a history of saying dum stuff and i still dont see people really letting arum have it for his statment we dont knw what berto can do with these guys until he fights them and you can only get ready for the next level by fighting guys on the next level his hand speed and movement is great give him a shoot

Yeah it could be because he is black.

Or it could be because that Margarito has been in the top class for a long time.

Hey I have seen the opinions fly around here.. All I gotta say is that Berto is the future of the division.. Big stong natural Welter who can fight the other bigger guys of the division because of his size as well as have all the attributes of the naturally smaller guys with Speed, Reflexes and quickness... I dont get how everyone is on Gamboa's D**k with 11 wins but Berto who has been brought up the absolute best way by Dibella is called a flash in the pan.. Amazing how fickle fans can be..

You'll bitch about an all action fighter with an electrifiying offense and say he neglects defense but you'll bitch at the defensive fighter and say he is boring and to cautious Berto has been improving steadily and especially defensively against Rodriguez were he was implementing a version of the Philly shell and shoulder rolling more... Which was light years away from were he had been against guys like Rivera and Estrada... I saw him being patient Boxing and then letting the KO come to him

I'm still unsure about him mainly in the defense and chin area and also it will be interesting to see if he has some rough moments does he have a plan B but he's obviously got some natural gifts.

I'm not totally sure about his power either. He can punch but I'm not sure if its really top drawer type of power. If he had to fight one of the two he should probably go for Shane, Margarito's pressure is the worst type of thing for an inexperienced fighter.
