In a Bob Dylan song that I like he said to a girl that he will
"Buy her a diamond ring and a wedding gown if she Lets him Follow her Down"??
In the songs i've heard it in, i've always thought it was a reference to drugs like heroin or something where you "go down" so to speak... Possibly..
But pop singers these days use all sorts of these catch phrases/saying without probably even knowing the meaning of them, or meaning anything by them themselves... There is no depth in lyrics these days...
How many times have you heard "hands in the air... Like you just don't care"
I mean, is that the lamest line in history, yet it is probably the most repeated...
