Joshua Clottey has just done the same thing and pretty much got away with it.

Manny was around 148 on his last fight night. I think he could get to around 154 for a fight with Oscar. I wouldn't rule out his chances just yet anyway.

I take on board what you are saying about wanting to see him fight Tony, but for everything Oscar has done in his career, i think people should go a little easy on him. He's given so much to the sport. I can't think of too many fighters in their peak now who are going to end up with a resume anywhere near as good os his.

So Clottey got away with fighting a guy who is already established within his own weight class? Say what you will about how much weight he gained after the weigh in, Joshua Clottey has gone by all the rules he is supposed to go by. The same as Carlos Baldomir who had to sweat down from 170+ pounds. If Oscar could get down to 140 and fight I'd respect him calling out Manny Pacquiao, but he can't even make 147 and he's challenging someone who's fought at a max of 135. Clottey can make 147 and Zab is a welter, albeit on the light side. So long as you can make the weight class of the person you're in against I say more power to you. I don't see anybody calling for Margarito or Andre Berto to bump up to Junior middleweight or Paul Williams to bump up to middleweight, why the exception for Joshua Clottey?

People just hate him no matter what. He can have a fight on tv FOR FREE and people will cry about it. He can support the olympic team and people will cry about it. People don't talk about his achievements and list of guys he faced.
Other guys like Mayweather, Cotto, or Margarito, won't make a nickle compared to ODLH facing Pac.
Pac is no martyr poor little boo boo. He knows what he's getting into and that is a BIG ASS PAYCHECK, the biggest in his career and probably the biggest he will ever get.

Pac is the one Challenging DLH. If DLH say no to a Challenge from a Great Little guy then he will be called a bigger Pussy. DLH a no Good 160 pounder. He can't beat Mosley at 154 & 147. Exactly, you can never win with anything that has to do with ODLH. If ODLH said "No" to Pac, you would have people crying here saying he's afraid and all the things that are said about ODLH everyday.
People have said that ODLH should face Cotto. If ODLH signs a fight with him I can bet people will start crying "Oh, no he picks Cotto after seeing how bad he was punished against Tony". You just can't win with ODLH.
