I think Berto has much potential and a strong foundation.The thing is ,I have no Idea how he will react when He steps up to the top tier and is constantly pressured on his heels.Will he retain the accuracy when He has a qualified, durable guy like Clottey punching at him.Clottey needs to find some intensity and increased work rate,He at times just go's through the motions .I honestly think Zab was there for the taking a little earlier and Clottey was well on his way to stopping him regardless.Bottom line,Berto needs to step it up big time prior to receiving the cape

The welterweights are alive and well with some atractive fights ahead.I'd even take a rematch with Clottey vs. Margarito,I don't care if Clottey had two "healthy" hands.....Tony was coming on in a big way that night.Some fight to victory through the pain,and some do not!

It's a good step up for Berto for sure. I see him winning a UD; though Clottey will pressure him all night and we could see Berto get into a tight spot such as when he did with Rivera. I'm not sold on Berto's chin yet. I'd actually like to see him fight Zab or Cintron.

You guys crack me up when you talk about Clottey... Clottey is a natural counterpuncher and defense 1st, unless his opponents throw his volume is down... He had plenty of opportunuties against Margarito because he throws 100 punches around...

I guess if you dont like big, strong, fast, fundamentally sound Boxers with great footwork, superb defense and solid chin then Clotteys not your guy

I think Berto needs 2 more fights with increased skill set competion before he fights Clottey or any of the big 3...

Clottey is the most well rounded technically skilled Welter at the moment until Floyd unretires of course
