He doesn't want to get hurt.

He'd be beating the number 1 P4P fighter in the world.

p4p fighters keep getting smaller and smaller, gotta beat one sooner or later.

A win over Pacquiao means nothing for Oscar and a loss would just be ridiculous. This fight does NOTHING for Oscar's legacy....it can only help Pacquiao.

Oscar should stop being such a pussy and fight Margarito. Tony is a top level fighter he's tough, he's Mexican, he's mouthy, he's exciting, and he's in his prime AND he and Oscar have history with each other. I think a win over Margarito really would be the icing on Oscar's career and a KO win which is a remote possibility would be a great way to end a career. Meanwhile if Tony wins Oscar passes the torch to a new star and if Tony KO's Oscar then WOW what better way to set up a match vs Floyd Mayweather Jr.?

Reading from the replies, there's really no solid reason(s) why Hoya is picking Pacquiao (aside from money)...

This lead me to believe that there's some personal issues between Hoya and Pacquiao that needs to be settled on top of the ring...

Look at Oscar and Manny two of the nicest guys in boxing....are they really angry with each other or do they just want to line their pockets

Oscar is just out for money right now when he could really go down (as he should) as a GREAT fighter by even fighting Antonio Margarito much less beating him which Oscar COULD do as he does have the wheels to box for 12 rounds AND seeing how Oscar brings so much bank he could have the fight at 154 or a 150 catch weight where he's more comfortable.

There is really no reason for a De la Hoya-Margarito fight not to happen it adds more to his legacy!!!

Pacquiao should fight Casamayor or Valero or Hatton he COULD win all those fights but they aren't going to be easy for him. He's a beast but he's not superhuman

Hoya wants to retire with a KO win in his last fight?

I think ODLH should fight Yutaka Niida.

At least Pac is the top P4P fighter in the world who has a decent chance of pulling an upset.

I don't think anyone was serious

    but...

Calderon is also a top fighter & if Oscar could loses a limb or 2 & get down to say 130-135 I'd give Calderon a decent chance of pulling an upset.
