Sorry mate but everyone directs their own destiny, wether it be Mick Hennesy or Carl himself, he hasnt had a career of note as yet, no big names, hes not fighting often and his biggest mistake was turning down Frank Warrens offer to fight Joe.
No one really knows what was in that offer but if Carl trully believed in himself he would have snapped it up, as it is hes left on the sidelines while everyone else makes money and a name for themselves, maybe it was Hennesy not happy with the options clause but Carl is the only one who can ultimately say yes or no.
If he did beat Joe and was then managed by Frank hed be a darn site more adavanced in his career by now!
WEven if it were shiit money, hed still have been paid more than in the time since then what hes earnt and hed have jumped the rankings, if his display was good enough.
Truth be told, both he and Mick no his limitations and are trying to cherry pick their way to the top.
If I were Carl and that offer came, its either shit or get off the pot, well he got off the pot and hes now bitching that everyone is running from him, when truth be told they are only doing what he is, waiting for a better opportunity, id have taken the Calzaghe fight, what better opportunity is there than to fight the best in your division.
Now hes a luiability, hes got old hasnt been tested and is injury prone, hes not fought any real tests and when he does step up hes gonna find it difficult to live with the pace and skill of the top fighters he s done so well to avoid.
If you were Mick Henessy would you really be that confident in putting a slow pced easy to hit 30 odd year old who hasnt got experience with world class in with Joe Calzaghe?
You wouldnt, which is why Cafrl is styill in his lowly laughable position.
I bet he reeads these forums and sees that people mention more about hjis age, inactivity and inexperince than they do his fighting qualitys, I reckon thats why he talks alot, to paper over the cracks.
