I think Mosley does well early ,Margarito gets him on his heels and does even better late for the win.
To be perfectly honest, this is just nothing but a little marketing ploy from Golden Boy Promotions.
If you remember correctly, back in 2006 when Shane beat Vargas in the rematch, everyone in boxing wanted Mayweather-Mosley, HBO was pushing HARD for it, Mayweather himself even wanted the fight and made Mosley an offer. What did Mosley do? He turned the down fight because he said he wanted to "go on vacation." He not only turned down that fight in November 2006 but he also turned it down for February 2007. Why? Because Oscar De La Hoya didn't want Shane fucking with his plans to fight Mayweather. Directly after the ODLH-Floyd fight, Mosley started calling out Mayweather. By then Floyd was like "you didn't want the fight when everyone else wanted it and now you want it when you just saw me do 2.4 Million PPV and there are no other big money options out there huh? Well now you're ass ain't getting it."
Mosley had a chance to fight Margarito for 8 Million with no other real big paydays like that on the market and he turned it down (at least Floyd got 8 Million for Baldy). Now all of sudden, he's calling Tony out again. Why? Because everyone in boxing is calling ODLH a fraud for trying to fight Pacquiao when there is a legitimate contender in Margo. So Golden Boy Promotions needs someone to divert the boxing public's attention from Oscar not fighting Margo. So now Mosley will call Tony out so that at least the Pacquiao is the only big money fight out there for Oscar.
Mosley is nothing but a pawn for ODLH. An expensive pawn, but a pawn nonetheless. Even though Mosley beat ODLH 2-0, ODLH still owns Mosley. Hahaha.
I don't think Mosley has enough left to beat Margarito. The Mosley of the early 00s I'd pick to win, but not now.
Mosley doesn't have the stamina at this age to keep up with the ridiculous workrate of Margarito. You see him clinching more nowadays (ex. Cotto fight) for a reason. Mosley has some boxing skills but has always been more of a speedy slugger anyway, who excels in the exchanges, rather than on the backfoot or moving laterally.
Mosley would probably have some moments, especially early on, with his speed, but there wouldn't be enough of those moments throughout the fight.
Margarito UD
