What should be the legacy of John "The Beast" Mugabi?

Mugabis career is that of fighters who are punchers and just have brutal fights and whos flame dies out fast...

a la Livingston Bramble

Oh ouch....Bramble was a pretty capable counter puncher and inside fighter at a point.If anything Ras-I.....(I actually named my dog Ras-I many years ago lol) had his career candle set on simmer in late years.He hung on waaaaay to long as a "survivor" in later stages but had some descent skills.I think Mugabi had about One gear.....Bramble had a a few Imo

In terms of existence, yeah Bramble really hold on way too long compared to Mugabi, but in terms of popularity, he is like John Mugabi who has a promising career until he met the Marvelous One.

He became way too popular after beating ray mancini twice, the first fight i considered one of the best i've seen

After winning the belt, he lost it immediately to Edwin Rosario.

He lost on all noticeable names after then, Freddie Pendleton, Santos Cardona, Oba Carr, Charles Murray.

I don't know when he change his name but i think he had to because he kept on losing. Then to Roger Mayweather, then to Kostya.

Did not realize two years was considered an Immediate time frame and as I remember Rosario was one of the hardest hitters In the modern era that I have ever seen.

To argue that Bramble did not become a resume "name" at journeyman status would be ignoring history & reality but Dude had some skills other than being a big hitter......which he really was not.Mugabi & Bramble over all do not compare Imo ,is what I'm saying.Did you see the Carr fight?

I've seen it long time ago, but i do recall it's a controversial fight. He decked Carr twice and lost via split decision as far as i can recall

As I recall, Bramble fiought top level opposition after the Rosario icing, and for the most part was able to go the distance with most even though he lost to most. He was tough as nails. IMO. Also, not a bad guy to talk with. I once asked him if the Mancini camp had badly underestimated him in their first fight and his reply was ,"it would not have mattered."

No doubt about it. I had to go back and take yet another look today at a couple.Just As Ive said before....Bramble "L" Carr was an absolute,terrible blind mans decision.Crazy how it came about,USA network did a 900 # call in poll for the fans to actually pick Carr's next "opponent" and they choose Bramble.He pole-axed Carr with a straight right in the first and dropped him with another to end the round.Carr came back in 2nd with some very nice uppercuts/hooks and took that round.Carr looked to box the rest of the night but in the 5th he really staggered Bramble with a left hook off the ropes only to gas out after he unloaded everything trying to KO him.After that I had Bramble winning the next 4 rounds with effective pressure and he hurt Carr in the body around the 9th.Manny Steward told Carr going into the 9th he needed the knockout but Bramble was the harder puncher and had Carr backing up taking hard body shots.The Detroit hometown crowd had shouts of "Bullshit" at Decision announcement,I had it scored 97-92 for Livingstone.He said in interview that it was "The best fight that he ever lost"

In fairness,His DQ to Mayweather should have been ruled a TKO,After a couple of tight rounds,Roger zeroed in with some hellacious straight rights...as he was known to do lol, and really hurt Bramble badly.Put him on the deck and in the 4th,Mayweather hurt him again and Bramble was really stunned,only to have the ref step in at which point Mayweather hit him on the break sending him down,The cornerman stepped up on the ring apron to stop the fight I believe and Ref ruled it a DQ All kinds of chaos broke out,Man,that is a dumbarse rule. His fight with Kevin Rooneys Up & coming hopeful Ricky Meyers was just a war,really good fight.Meyers tried to duplicate the Mike Tyson "Bob & Weave" style throughout,with some success and won on work rate.Nice scrap!!Need coffee

Agreed brutal non-stop action from JCC which I would love to see Mayweather at the receiving end of.
