Default De La Hoya - Harming his Legacy

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, or should I say Oh Golden boy.

What is this guy doing, no I know what he’s doing, he’s trying to make a lot of money, and fair enough make as much as you can good on you.

However please don’t take us fans as idiots and this goes for Shaefer as well. Oscar De La Hoya is looking for a finale as his last fight and I do understand that no fighter wants to bow out on is back, that’s not the memory he or his fans want.

So when Oscar said he will fight the winner of Cotto Vs. Margarito and then after having seen the Tijuana Torndao win by TKO and then saying he doesn’t want to fight another Mexican is trying to makie a fool out of us!

Oscar you fought a past his prime Chavez and then experiencing plenty of back-lash after the first fight you had no problem fighting the Mexican legend again. The reason you do not want to fight Margarito is because you saw how ruthless and destructive the Tijuana Tornado can be and you do not want to be KO’d and hurt in your last fight? It’s got nothing to do with him being a Mexican!

To be fair, I have no problem with that, Margarito was a feared fighter before the Cotto bout so why should he be any less feared after the Cotto bout. I would suggest Oscar you simply say something along the lines of the truth but don’t you and your associates at Golden Boy Promotions try to make an idiot out of us knowlegable fight fans who have been paying for PPV’s, buying tickets and contributing to the cash in your wallet.

And Shaefaer is an even bigger piss taker, does this guy know anything about Boxing, I know he’s a shrewd business man but this guys needs to go into the ring and go just 6 rounds before he starts making comments such as ‘Margarito has unfinished business and Oscar wanted to fight Cotto because he was undefeated and Margarito is not” well Mr Shifter did you fail to see the number 3 under the loses column for Pacquiao?

Why you picking on a little guy you bully,

I was thinking about this the other day and I thought where would I place Oscar in all time greats list, yes I give him 100% respect for taking on the big fights Trinidad, Mosely twice, Hopkins, Mayweather jr can’t no-one dispute his balls, but let’s face it he lost those fights, he looked very good and beat very good fighters but fell short against the elite, he did himself no favours in the Trinidad fight! but that's another topic.

So all you Oscar fans will now say well who should he fight then Mr no it all.

Lets face it because of sheer intrigue we will all watch the Pac Oscar fight if it happens and yes Oscar is far to big but what if, just what if Pac can dance on the outside come in rip some serious combinations and get back out, mark de la hoyas face and as de la hoya gets tired in the latter rounds Pac gets abit more confident and catches del ahoya with reapated flurrys and wins a UD?

I’l tell you what , oscar will feel like a prick and Pacs legacy wil be cemented forever.

The bottom line is Shifter and Oscar are business men Oscar has become a very good busness man of late, but as far as his boxing legacy is concerened listen to me Oscar you are doing it some serious harm right now!!!!!!!!

I don't see him harming it that much. What he's done in the past, he's done. No disgraceful performances or mismatches can change that . Unless we find out of any foul play in these fights, like those Top Rank scales which were investigated by the Feds.

ODLH no matter what he does already has his Legacy intact. He is just gonna load up on one more payday (doesn't really matter who he gets)
And sink the money into real estate, or a resaurant, or a bar, or a gym
or GBP or The RING Magazine. Anyway he goes he's gonna bank roll, he is
past the point of worrying about Legacy at all.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Yeah agreed Oscar has built his career on taking risks, some payed off some didn't but still payed. He is building a new legacy with Golden Boy promo's as well, he is close to being a billionaire so obviously still enjoys the boxing, he isn't even that old at 35 there are many that should consider quitting before he does.

Win or lose he is a 5 weight world champ that has fought nearly everyone that is worth fighting, no one will ever take that away from him
