It's kinda funny that the US count the medal table by total amont of medals won, while the rest of the world count gold medals first. Of course this is purely coincidental, right?
GB has been good at funding smaller sports, thus making it possible to win many medals without too much competition. Denmark is doing the same, and despite a tenth of the GB population and an even bigger gap in funding, we've managed to grab a few medals in rowing, sailing and track cycling. New Zealand is another small country doing well here - other contries, e.g. Ireland, should consider taking notice, if they want to improve their Olympic standing.
The medals table doesn't mean an awful lot really... countrys as big as China and America etc... the size of them...
Not finding gold medal winners out of populations those big would be like falling into a sea full of tits and coming out sucking your thumb![]()
They just (well not just but it was just on TV here) silver in some kind of rowing race. I have no idea why I was watching.

Indoor volleyball is like 10 times the sport of beach volley ball. Give me Logan Tom over Kerry Walsh anyday thanks. Really though, I actually like watching indoor volleyball, strange. And I saw that rowing race too. They lost out to the Chinese I think it was, women.
