Which got me to thinking about the MMA, why all this hype about a sport where fighters quit all of the time, when a fighter taps out, does this make his less of a man or less of a fighter?

I am just bringing this up because people are calling Cotto a quiter but if you watch the fight as I have watched it, Miguel took a lot of punishment and should have been knocked out in the second, the seventh, the eigth, the 10th and in the eleventh. Miguel could have easily taken more knees a lot earlier, didnt someone mention Gary Lockett in another thread?


Only those with superior chins have been able to go the distance with Margarito. We all know that Miguel has a less than perfect chin but to say he is not a warrior is pure bullshiet. Miguel never tried to clintch at every chance he got, he went to war. Some one mentioned that Hatton vs Mayweather Jr was a great fight. Are you fucking kinding me? All Floyd did was hold. Miguel could have hugged Tony until the cows came home but he didn't, he put up a great fight.

Tszyu is not a quitter and neither is Cotto, both are warriors who lost to the better man on the night. Joe Frazier quit on the stool in the 'Thriller in Manilla' yet this fight ranks very highly amongst the greatest Heavyweight fights of all time. Joe Frazier was not a quitter, it was common sense and for the protection of the fighter that his corner would not let him continue, even Ali himself could barely come out for round 15!.
Look at Joe Frazier these days, the guy can hardly put a sentence together, what do we want from these guys? Cotto will live to fight another day and hopefully comeback better than ever and like a true champion regain his title and defend it successfully for a few more years until a new young warrior comes along to take it from him just like Hatton with Tszyu.

Your right Frazier is certainly no quitter. Actually if it wasn't for the great Angelo Dundee Ali would have lost that fight because he wanted to pull out but Dundee saw that Futch was pulling Joe out and therefore Ali won it. The greatest HW fight in history for me! I know that they were both a lot more technically gifted in the others but Gatti wasn't as technically gifted as PBF but he was in much better fights if you know where I'm coming from?
