Remember Evil Dead1?I remember being told that when it first came out that it was banned due to the violence and the gory scenes in it.I thought to myself....."I have to get hold of it and watch it for myself to see if all the hype was true.It took me years to get hold of it on VHS.When i finally watched it i was crapping myself,ha.Mind you i was only 15year old.
Never got a high heartbeat off Evil Dead or Dawn of the Dead.
The only movie that ever scared me after I got out of adolescent age was Silence of the Lambs. I saw that when it 1st came out in the theatre and I was practically laying on the floor I was so low in my chair after Clarice chased him into the basement![]()
It wasn't the violence, or blood and guts, that I can deal with. It was the persona of Buffalo Bill. After he did his little dance and tucked his weiner between his legs I got way creeped out. Fags are so goddamn scary if you think about it
And I don't like masks, so that's why Friday the 13th bothered me so much, as did Leatherface in TCM.
I knew there was one I was forgetting: The Shining
One of my top 10 fave movies ever. I about sh#t myself when that kid was riding through the halls on his little plastic 3 wheeler. I was tense that whole movie. In fact I'm going to watch it again todayT
That part where she went and stole a glance at what he had been writing all the time and it turned out he was just typing pages and pages of the same thing over and over, that was brilliantly scary and so simplistic in the way it was done.
The Thing. I saw this the first time way back in like 1987 at my mother's apartment right before bed and couldn't get to sleep until like 1 in the morning. We slept in cots on the floor and I kept thinking it was just going to slither around from the kitchen or something and take me over. I was around ten at the time.
Oops
Sleepy Hollow, The Haunted, and the Halloween movies (except the 3rd one), scared me.
The Exorcist.
I know that is an easy answer, but nothing has scared me as bad as that movie. I didn't see it till I was 17 and I slept in bed with my father that night LOL
I don;t really think I found many scary but one that F**KEd me up for a while was Pink Flamingoes and Woman trouble or Men Trouble both John Water's films and they just screwed me up.
After watching this film i've been scared of clowns ever since.I was only about 7or8 at the time.I was never really fond of clowns in the first place but after watching this nasty clown it put the willys up me for sure!
