Guys and gals, thanks for the replies. You can tell a lot about a person by whether they like cats, dogs, both or another animal

If it's yellow, let it mellow... If it's brown, invite me 'round...

I've been around them and a friend had a couple of labs. Very good dogs and other than not having the obvious desire to want to fight, they have the same temperment as a bulldog. Great dogs around children for the most part as well.

German Sheperds are great dogs as well, though the long hair is annoying. I like a dog that is great tempered but that if someone comes around and tries something a dog that will literally inhale a direct threat to its family. That's why I like a working dog. Cane Corso, Dogo Argentino, Canary dog from Spain, American Bulldog, Pit Bull are all top dogs. Belgian Malinois are great dogs and look like smaller german sheperds, but are one of the best protection dogs out there.

Two of my friends used to have Labradors to and there were great. My best friend had a Ridgeback and that was pretty awesome. What he told me though, was the Ridgeback was too powerful and too much hard work.It was a good looking dog tho.It cost him about £800-1000 to buy it as a pup though

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are nice dogs, very powerful. I knew a guy that had 2 of them and they were cool dogs. Used for hunting lions a long time ago. Check out the Tosa dogs from Japan. They still legally fight them in Japan. Massive dogs and great protection animals. I like the Neopolitan Mastiffs as well, though the drooling is absurd. Easily one of the most intelligent dogs out there though, though you couldn't tell by looking at them.

The French Bordeaux dogs are spectacular animals as well.

I also have a bull terrier. Totally wacky and I'll never have another one as they are nuts.

I love Ridgebacks, possibly my favorite dog. My grandma has had two of them and they were both great animals. I also really like Weimaraners.

Cats as they take less work.

They are nice sogs. I like any type of performance dog. Here is a Belgian Malinois. They look like 1/2 starved german sheperds but are used worldwide in police work and personal protection. I've personally seen them scale 8 ft chain link fences like it was nothing.
