Not many fighters can say that the "azzwhooping of their life" equals a win and a world title

I'm not going to bash Hatton. He will have great fights at 140 with Cotto, Castillo, and Corrales. But, I will say this, He won't beat Floyd.

That he knows that in order to succeed in the Welterweight division he needs to face Collazo in a rematch and beat him, that won't happen so, Hatton leaves Welterweight

ever thought that Calllozo should move down a weight and challenge Ricky at his desired weight?
After all, Ricky Hatton didn't feel comfortable at WW but he had to fight because Luiz was the champion....Ricky is now the champion, so he makes the rules.
    hahahahaha...

If they fought at 140 could they fight for a 147 belt?

Yeah, like if Toney had beaten Rahman, he should have immediately lost all the fat (i'm not aiming for realism here), ran back down to middleweight, and forced HWs to chase him down there for a shot at the title.

no--the_one was joking. hatton would likely have to vacate that belt anyway, even if he stuck around at 147, cuz no one (especially HBO) was excited about watching that mandatory.

A Champion is someone who has a tough fight and is all over a rematch to prove themselves.

Ricky is going down in weight for an easier chance at the other fighters he can bully.

    Thats not a champion

Yes I realize that you R going to roll your eyes. Does 7 lbs really make that much difference?

Yes. Because his style needs him to push around guys and bully them and wear them down. He can't bully a guy that is naturally bigger then him, he body mass won't allow it, they both may weigh the same but only one can actually use that weight with his mass. Collazo could stand in front of Ricky because Ricky didn't carry well at 147 because he hasn't the mass to bully. It was smart of Hatton to move down but he isn't a true champ unless he fights Collazo again.

Do you think that Hatton could bully Floyd, Starr? Floyd has been walking forward in his most recent fights, and has gotten alot bigger, and stronger{not punch power} than he used to be. I mean, against Gatti, he looked like a monster, even Zab grew alot, and Floyd looked bigger than him. Floyd has been pushing back as of recent, not getting out-muscled.

So even if Collozo moved down weight he would still be the bigger man. How would that help Hatten, why not grow into 147 (as Hatten says) and then rematch? Or does Collozo lose strength by going down?

Floyd is the type that will let you push him because he will still move himself out of distance and then move.

No I don't think Hatton would be able to bully Floyd if Floyd wanted to stand his ground but I think Floyd would let Hatton move him and use it to his advantage use Hatton's physicality against him.

It would depend on how easily that Collazo could make 140. If Collazo could make 140 easily without draining himself he would still hold the advantage over Hatton. However if Collazo had to drain himself to make 140 then his stamina would be shot and Hatton would have the advantage
