For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Dan Rafael was asked about this in his chat last week on espn.com. He said that the comment was an error and that the fight is definitely scheduled for 12 rounds.

Those 2 rounds are going to make a big difference for Pavlik; guy is going to be in it tough the whole fight and those last 2 rounds should be where he can use his youth to his advantage stamina wise.
This is not going to be an easy fight for Pavlik, and a 10 round fight would not have helped in any way{unless he somehow ko'd Hop in that time, which I don't see happening}; glad that's not the case. He needed those 2 rounds in his rematch with Taylor and he'll need them in this one.

i think pavlik will still win

I just see the longer it goes,it benefits Hopkins.I know,Hopkins showed some slippage and I questioned his stamina late, his methodical sniper shot style as of late is frustrating as all hell but Honestly,Exactly how many times has Pavlik gone past 9 rounds in entire career ??That may be very telling in the "Championship" rounds (Now we here its 12 rounds)Imo.

Fair point; but he went 12 with Jermaine and actually showed, at least in that fight, that stamina wasn't an issue by still throwing alot of punches and in my eyes winning that fight from those last 2 rounds. I can't see Hopkins being any better down the stretch than Taylor was, but who knows.![]()

10 rounds?
What's next. They going to throw in hand rails?

Pavlik might nick it on work rate
Still wouldn't be surprised if Hopkins won tho.
8 years ago, I would have given popkins the edge but at this stage of his career, I don't see Hopkins winning. This will be a good fight for Pavlik and a very nice name on his resume although Pavlik has rarely had to go the distance, he is younger and he is only getting better. Pavlik has a lot of similarities to Antonio Margarito although Tony's conditioning is better I think this will be one of the things that team Pavlik will be working on and try to take b-pop out in the late rounds. B-pop was gassed against Calzaghe and I am looking for him to get gassed even more against a younger Pavlik. I am not saying that Pavlik will knock out B-hop but he will try. I would like to see b-hop get knocked out personallyIf it goes 12, I guess we will just have to listen to b-pop complain about being robbed yet again
Please no! Come on Pavlik, knock this old fool out. You know, the one who said he would never lose to a white boy.? Yes, that one.
If B-pop does not come to fight like he didn't against Calzaghe, b-pop will lose and he will only have himself to blame again.

Well I thought that was the norm if there is no title involvement whatsoever. I can't see anyone making it an eliminator for a LHW title and obviously Pavliks title is not on the line as I think its at a catchweight of 170. Gatti-Ward fights were all 10 rounders and they were 3 of the most entertaining fights ive ever seen plus Hopkins is too old these days he needs to kneel down during the fight to catch his breath lol.
