Those 2 rounds are going to make a big difference for Pavlik; guy is going to be in it tough the whole fight and those last 2 rounds should be where he can use his youth to his advantage stamina wise.
This is not going to be an easy fight for Pavlik, and a 10 round fight would not have helped in any way{unless he somehow ko'd Hop in that time, which I don't see happening}; glad that's not the case. He needed those 2 rounds in his rematch with Taylor and he'll need them in this one.
i think pavlik will still win
I just see the longer it goes,it benefits Hopkins.I know,Hopkins showed some slippage and I questioned his stamina late, his methodical sniper shot style as of late is frustrating as all hell but Honestly,Exactly how many times has Pavlik gone past 9 rounds in entire career ??That may be very telling in the "Championship" rounds (Now we here its 12 rounds)Imo.
Fair point; but he went 12 with Jermaine and actually showed, at least in that fight, that stamina wasn't an issue by still throwing alot of punches and in my eyes winning that fight from those last 2 rounds. I can't see Hopkins being any better down the stretch than Taylor was, but who knows.![]()
One 12 round distance fight of this magnitude.One.No matter who the fighter is, going against an old crusty craft master like Hopkins can ask many questions, ecspecially in the later rounds.I thought the 11th round body shot won that one for Pavlik,he nearly folded Taylor in half Lol and Taylor put on a much more disaplined fight.Look at the way Taylor manuevered Pavlik off the ropes on more than a few occasions and reset.Pavlik has shown some great improvments and will be up for this one like no other in career.I do think Hopkins needs to take big risks,he is out of tomorrows and can not "Assume" sharp shooting and cruising on past accomplishments will get him a victory. If Hopkins does......again, I'll even sayhe deserves to lose It !I will cheer just as loud should Pavlik Take him out....He has earned it.
10 rounds?
What's next. They going to throw in hand rails?
If its a 10 rounder B'Hop might throw more punches knowing that he wont have to go 12 rounds which mite make it a better fight.Just a theory anyway.
Pavlik might nick it on work rate
Still wouldn't be surprised if Hopkins won tho.
