I think Floyd would win a ud on his bike.

But it would be a great fight.

Im just thinking if any other fighter had avoided the best 3 fighters of his era would he be rememberd favourably? i mean Floyd didnt fight Mosley, Cotto or Margarito.

Just thought id throw that out.

    Cotto TKO9
Cotto would pressure PBF all night long and break him down. Body punching would do the job. It is pretty obvious Floyd is/was scared of him anyway.

Pretty obvious if you knee-jerk react to anything that comes along. Notice how you heard nothing out of Cotto's mouth after Mayweather DESTROYED Gatti. Cotto was in attendance at ringside. Why do you assume PBF was afraid instead of the other way around? I don't think there's enough information to make a conclusion either way.

I'd pick Mayweather to outbox Cotto in a close ud win, 7 rounds to 5.

Kind of how I see it. Would be a good fight though and I wish it would still happen. You never know.

You are so ridiculous! So your saying that those three fighters are better than DLH Cotto gets a lucky decision over mosley then loses to margarito and hes an alltime great? im not bashing on him im just saying lets see what he does before we him a best fighter of any era. Margarito is definately good but before we call him great lets see him a little bit more. He has wins against cotto and cintron but also a loss against williams. Shane is definately good but i havent heard stories of floyd "avoiding" him.

If a past his prime De La Hoya can push Mayweather to a split decicion, and bare in mind ODLH is not a natural pressure fighter.

Then you got to say a clever pressure fighter who can fight to a game plan would stand a chance.

This is a fight where I think Mayweather would have to stand his ground and fight or get beaten.

Please I don't know how anyone could of scored that fight for ODLH, PBF was nowhere near his limit. That was an example of an in the pocket judge IMO. I also don't believe PBF would have to alter his plan in any way to fight Cotto, as PBF's style works best against pressure fighters. As a matter of fact he has fought more pressure fighters than anyone I can think of in recent memory.

No, as a matter of fact, and as much as I despise Mayweather the 'human', he won the fight outright. I'd give Cotto a little longer than Hatton in the ring with Mayweather before he gets stopped. Mayweather is just a freakishly gifted fighter with the personality of a sewage rat.

yes very true i watched the odlh vs pbf fight and i was mad that anyone in there right mind could score odlh winning the last round watch just that last round if you can find it and you'll see what im talking about. but as for cotto its like putting floyd in the ring with the same guy over and over again. these are words right out of floyds mouth( im going to be me all these guys come in the ring trying to do the same old thing im just gonna do me) what he was saying is i dont even have to change my game plan because he knows for the most part how the fight is gonna go. think about it befor every fight a boxer trains to best beat who hes going to face in the ring next if you keep faceing the same style of fighter your only going to get better and better at beating that style because training camp is going to be close to the same everytime

Anyone who thought Oscar deserved a split decision is a retard, I am not kidding right now. Oscar lost by AT LEAST 4 rounds. Mayweather outsped him, out boxed him, even outfought Oscar down the stretch. Oscar wasn't pressuring the whole fight, there were plenty of times Mayweather stood right in front of the much larger Oscar and made Oscar miss while landing his own shots.

Keep in mind Oscar is a better boxer, faster, stronger chin, and hits harder then Cotto. Cotto does pressure better, he's more accurate, and he is better against speed, but he is outmatched against Floyd, a guy he wouldn't hurt, wouldn't outbox, wouldn't beat on the inside.

Floyd won the fight...no question. But for certain stretches...Oscar was able to land his jab at will and read/block Floyd's punches. Floyd eventually settled down and used his superior stamina/speed to win the fight. I have always thought in order to beat Floyd you need a great jab and great stamina. Cotto has an excellent jab. He normally has pretty good stamina...but when pressured his stamina and his chin are question marks for me (Floyd certainly isn't a pressure fighter). All that being said...Cotto would probably be the best all around, PRIME fighter Floyd has faced in a long time. As good as Oscar still is, he certainly wasn't in his prime when fighting Floyd and i thought Oscar's all out pressure style was the wrong game plan anyways against Floyd. Oscar best moments in that fight is when he boxed using his jab. Cotto has developed into a more complete boxer...he even showed great counter punching skills against Tony (of course Tony is much easier to hit than Floyd). Just saying...i wouldn't say Cotto is now just a pressure fighter...he can mix it up pretty well. Floyd vs. Cotto would be a very good fight. But i still think Floyd's superior skill, stamina, and defense would lead him to a UD.
