CFH sounds grumpy today.

Gotta go with the Killers. Both bands have a sound which doesn't try to fit in or ask what they should be, but to me simply are.

Not everyone is about lyrics, and I don't think it is even really all that necessary. It would sort of negate classical music wihich is timeless to suggest music requires good lyrics. But in this day and age, of hip hop, and trendy pop, where masses listen to what the words are and fashion themselves to them...I like something to think about. Not being told what is what. The Killers do this for me. The Strokes got a great simple raw sound, and are also smart.

So yea, I like em both too. But tip my hat as is noticable, a bit towards The Killers.

I hate to hear songs where they are just rhyming words but not saying much.
I hate stupid lyrics I like songs that say something a story or theres a meaning.
One of the worst lyrics I've ever heared/read:
"So happy together, how is the weather"
WTF?
They just rhymed together with weather. That's fucken lame.

And never heard the Strokers. Sound like a bunch of nelly belly's to me JK Mick.

The Strokes easily IMO.

Nobody I know likes them but the first two albums are very good IMO. I actually liked the second one better I think. Probably has their best song, Reptilia. Third's a bit meh I agree.

Julius is an animal with lyrics man and Is This It? is top album.
I like 12:51 a little more then Reptillia but both quality songs...

My god, Mick, I'm speechless. Please tell me you don't own a Simple Plan record? I order you to immediately buy the Stiff Little Fingers anthology, a couple of Clash and Buzzcocks albums and lock yourself in your room with it until you see the error of your ways. That being said I think The Killers and The Strokes are outside of that group.....Simple Plan, My Chemical Romance, AFI or any of the other EMO bands should all be loaded onto a rocket and shot into the Sun

If The Killers and The Strokes were food, I could eat it to avoid starvation and maybe learn to enjoy it a bit over time, once I forgot what actual good food tasted like. Just like if you have never been to an actually good Italian restaurant, you might think the Olive Garden is good. Simple Plan, MCR, AFT, The Bravery - if they were food I would puke and eventually starve to death if nothing else were around.

The emo punk, Green Day, Nickleback, Foo Fighters, and Finger Eleven's of this world are what's wrong with music. It's cookie cutter packaged and marketed bullcrap to tweens who have shit for brains.

The Killers and The Strokes at least have a different sound and aren't so forced on the populus

Nope not a Simple Plan fan, or Fall Out Boy or any of those.
What's that other band... Good Charlotte I think are all dumb asses.
Along with Panic At The Disco.
Those bands to me are 1 hit wonders who had 1 song hit the airwaves and think they've made it.

For me The Strokes & The Killers have proved to be MUCH more then that.

I love the strokes, Juicebox, You only Live once, reptilia are some of my favourite songs. I get over the Killers pretty quickly, but can listen to the strokes all the time
